Don't have FSX - sorry, Widowmaker - if you have found the skins, but don't know how to get

really at them, you can send me one, and I'll see what I can find.

Thanks Olham, that would be helpful

The main difference appears to be the Specular textures that FSX uses, and having to add info to the Aircraft.cfg file.

Have tried to save as DDS and BMP so far...with equally depressing results!

FSX skins are beautiful to look at...but my goodness...difficult to work with.

I will email you a texture folder to look at a bit later m8!...thanks :drinks:

Not tried skinning myself....yet, but a good place to ask for advice for FSX would be the forums at Simflight.com . Especially the screenshot forums. They're a great bunch and do some beautiful work.

Hope this helps.

I use dxtbmp for all my skinning needs. The FSX formats aren't that much different from the 2004 ones. Using dxtbmp avoids conversion problems where dds is concerned. (you can send it to an external editor, edit the texture and import it back into dxtbmp without converting around).

I think they're dds dxt5, but the reload-after-edit option saves converting between bmp and other formats.

Using the same as Matt; and I don't know, if any other program might be better, but DXTBmp is doing the job fine.

I can open a Photoshop work with many layers, and transform it into a .dds file.

Thanks Guys

I have been using the Nvidia DDS plugin with CS2 for OFF skinning...and I think I've just about cracked it, as Matt says. It's a Dxt5 as opposed to the OFF Dxt1

Many thanks chaps :)
