SDirickson Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Doom keeps freezing and crashin on my comp. It'll play fine with killer fps, then suddenly it will freeze. Occasionally it freezes when I press esc to exit the game. Any suggestions? Intel P4 3.0ghz 1gig RAM Radeon 9800 PRO SB Audigy II WinXP SP2 Quote
SDirickson Posted August 24, 2004 Author Posted August 24, 2004 Ha, never mind. I know the first suggestion would be to update my drivers. Which is exactly what I did. Fixed. Cat 4.8's. And yes, I do fly LOMAC. Quote
joejoe Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 (edited) does it give you any errors when it crashes? when you say freeze, does it freeze the game but you can ctrl+alt+del out of it? or does it crash your whole computer?also, you may want to try using an earlier cat driver, make sure you have dx 9.0b updated windows... etc. Edited August 24, 2004 by joejoe Quote
Chaingun Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 ATI also has a hot fix out based on the 4.9 cats specifically for Doom 3. Just a FYI. You can find it on their site. ;) Quote
SDirickson Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 Awesome, I'll have to check those 4.9's out. At the moment though, Doom III is runnin hot and heavy, no problems. Well, no problems cept sweaty palms and swamp ass. Quote
Chaingun Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Don't know if I'd mess with a good thing then. As I think most people reported maybe a 1-3 fps increase at the most. It was mostly a fix for things like artifacting and freezes I believe. Quote
