+whiteknight06604 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 thats an interesting one,It's kind of funny that in the german airforce at the time the camo aircraft is the one that stands out from the rest.Great job as per your usual. Quote

Not to mention what looks like white snow on the ground. Green and purple dont blend in well with snow. Quote
+quack74 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Is this the crate he flew when Voss took on 56 squadron? From what I've read, Menckhoff wasnt the one in that mix. And the aircraft (Albatros type) was said to have a red nose. At the moment I cant recall the "possible" pilots name. BTW I will be posting the S.E.5's from No.56. The ones involved in that tiring 1 vs 7 spat. Edit: Here a few of No.56 in September 1917 Edited November 26, 2010 by quack74 Quote
+quack74 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 Here are two more from Jasta 3 in mid to late 1917 "Hilde" - Ltn Joahim Rogalla von Bieberstein "Lulu" - Ltn Ludwig Weber Quote
Spad13 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Menckhoff was later shot down by US airman Walter Avery and captured. Menckhoff was "annoyed" to find out he had been shot down by a novice pilot. Avery cut the "M" off of Menckhoff's plane. After the war they somehow came in contact, and Avery returned his "M" to him.
