If you never got to see him broadcast,you missed one of the best.

When Monday Night Football started,the producers didn't think it would go far. By the end of the second year it was one of the top rated shows on TV.

Women were even watching. Why? "Dandy" Don Meredith.

He finally:"Turned out the lights,the party was over".

OMG...I can't believe that I missed this...I also can't reconcile with the fact that he was in his 70s, as I remember him both on the field (yes, I'm showing my age) and off, as a commentator. I fondly recall the ads that he did for Campbell's soup and Lipton tea during the mid-late 1980s.
