"We" have come a long way.

We sure have.......

I imagine only some of those in the UK will have understood the "Orange" comment......

Damn, that made me sadly nostalgic. "Flightsims have been the best-selling entertainment software for 10 years". Microprose and Spectrum Holobyte. Well do I remember those ancient days, now virtually forgotten. Damn, that made me feel old just watching it :this: .

Geez, when I look at the (almost entirely console) schlock that passes for games today, I don't see progress, I see regression. Most so-called gamers today wouldn't even be able to read the manual of F15 Strike Eagle, let alone play the game. Seeing all this makes me even more thankful that we have OBD to fill what has become a very niche market. I drink to the shade of the flightsim industry of the past and to the future success of OBD :drinks: .

Yup....That's why "We" is in quotation.

Go down a bit further on the site and watch the Unix presentation.

My intro was with a Mac II, a copy of "Chuck Yeager's Flight Sim, and a track ball. Many hours spent late nights chasing heavily-pixelated Me--109's. White knuckle flying at its best...circa 1996.

Mine was "Their Finest Hour" from LucasFilm Games. The aircraft were only pixelated views from

only a few angles - but I am sure I have been intercepting "Messerschmidts" with "Sailor" Malan,

in my Spitfire high above the cliffs of Dover.
