  1. Hellshade, damned straight about the unfriendly skies. I've resorted to watching a bunch of your videos in order to increase my survival chances. They really do illustrate the value of situational awareness at all times. The AI in this sim are absolutley brilliant, extremely unforgiving...to the point of being almost too realistic. And yes Olham, I'm all patched up and enjoying the heck out of this sim, even though I'm getting my ass handed to me a little more often than I'd like. Cheers Gents! Parky
  2. Hi Gents, Picked up WOFF a couple of days ago. Also picked up a nice shiny new SSD to install it on. With any luck I shall have already wracked up two or three aircraft and reintroduced myself to Nurse Gladys before Friday. Cheers, Parky
  3. Hi

I'm still here. Ran into some health issues a couple of years ago, but still come back just to lurk every once in awhile. Awesome job the team did on the last iteration of this title. Most impressive!! To those of you who do remember me, CHEERS! (Especially you, UncleAl) ;-) Parky
  4. Hi

Cheers guys, Health problems are under control now. Forty years of smoking will catch up with you eventually though. You'd have to be a complete idiot to think otherwise. Regardless, I got lucky and everything seems to be back in order now. For any of you here that still smoke, try to end the addiction. It's just not worth the impact it'll have on your overall health. Enough preaching for now I figure. Tony, wasn't it you I mailed OFF phase 2 to some years ago?? Pretty sure it was. Somewhere in northern Ontario if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, hope your health issues are also under control, and continue to remain so. Lou, and Olham. You are without a doubt, two of the finest contributors this forum has ever seen. I've always looked forward to reading your posts. Mr. Atrill, and Beanie. Thanks for your kind words. Oddly enough Beanie, I have a cat that's named after you... :-)
  5. OT Why I love where I live :)

Pretty rich in history.....is owning a Shetland Sheepdog a requirement for all residents? Absolutely beautiful, WM Thanks for sharing the link
  6. Email Hacked

Dej, If that's a Yahoo/Hotmail account, just go in and change your account password. You probably haven't been "hacked" in the true sense of the word... Cheers, Parky
  7. HELL EXPLAINED-BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT The following is an actual question given on a University of Arizona chemistry mid term, and an actual answer turned in by a student. The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well : Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving, which is unlikely.. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct..... ....leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God!!'
  8. Hi Mighty, If your's is the same system I'm thinking of, it does allow for the addition of a PCI-e graphics card. You'd have to pay careful attention to power requirements though. I believe your system has a 280 Watt PSU. That doesn't leave a whole lot of overhead for graphics adapter upgrades without having to upgrade the PSU as well. And yes, your Intel Graphics are integrated into the processor, so it shares L3 cache memory along with sytem memory. There may be a setting somewhere in your BIOS that allows you to predetermine just how much system memory can be made available for graphics processing.....not really sure without researching it. Regardless, if at some point down the road (or even now for that matter) the system is struggling with 3D apps, upgrading to some kind of mid-range card should certainly be a viable option. I'm sure some of the guys in here would be able to recommend something suited to your needs. Cheers, Parky
  9. It would appear so....however, the HD Graphics 2000 (which I'm pretty sure is what you have) has no dedicated memory but shares the fast Level 3 Cache with the CPU cores and also part of the main memory. Beer league.....as opposed to the NHL (if you're a hockey fan of any sort) Cheers, Parky
  10. Hi Mighty, Take a look in C:Users/"Your Username"/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/CFS1OverFlandersFields/ It should be in there... Cheers, Parky
  11. I'm thinking it's a cooked graphics card. I'd eliminate that as the cause before I started looking anywhere else....
  12. Hmmm.....it occurs to me that all that information (particularly an uncompressed video file) being written to the HDD would put a fairly significant load on the CPU. Not that it would really matter with today's central processing units.... Lou, Thanks for sharing this tip. I currently have BHaH installed by itself on an SSD. My "C" drive is comprised of four 1T drives in RAID 1-0, which is where FRAPS currently resides. I do have a 36 Gig Raptor with just my paging file on it. I wonder if it'd be worth throwing FRAPS on that drive to see if there'd be any difference? Cheers, Parky
  13. First of all, Bitlocker would only be present on your system if you had Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise. I doubt this is the case. You're probably running a different version. When you say you can't run the BHaH install as an Admin because you can't get it installed, this is a bit confusing. What has been suggested is that you make sure you are either LOGGED IN as administrator prior to the install, or right-click the installation executable and choose "Run As Administrator" from the dropdown menu. It would probably also be prudent to disable ANY and ALL Anti-virus/Malware utilities you may have running when you attempt the install, just in case one of them is causing the issue, regardless of your previous success. 14. Got the new rig ready for OFF2

That's like telling us about the hot new chick you're dating and not including a picture. How about some specs....

  16. OT -- Cats

Here are our two kids....um....cats I mean. Spooky is the grey one. Rescued him from a shelter when he was about 2 months old. He seems to think he's a dog. He's always bringing slippers downstairs and presenting them to us as some sort of gift. The other one is Sasha. Bought her from a breeder. She's Balinese, which is basically a Siamese variant with longer fur, a bushier tail and a much softer voice than the traditional Siamese. Although her voice is softer, she uses it at every opportunity. She'll literally carry on a conversation with me that goes on as long as I respond to her, and just like a typical female, she always has to have the last meow. Both fabulous, intelligent and good natured souls, and both spoiled rotten. Wouldn't trade either of 'em for all the tea in China. Cheers, Parky
  17. We have reputations?

There you go, Al. Now you only have 1093 to go......

Is that because your hairy palms keep making your hand slide off your mouse??
  20. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Now, THAT is just freakin' hilarious!!!!!!
  21. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Well, after reading the very positive feedback from some of our most well respected forum members, I went out and picked this title up. I must say I'm entirely impressed. After having played for only a few hours, I did learn one extremely valuable lesson and thought I'd share it for the benefit of anyone else who's entirely new to the game. If you're looking to increase your archery skills, the woolly mammoth is certainly not your best choice for target practice....
  22. What I would like to see

Don't you mean "whispering what an amazing lover with a touch of PANACHE" you are?
  23. My how time flys

That is awfully kind of you, old chap, but there's no need for you to go out of your way. Was just having a bit of fun with you mostly, but I'm very appreciative of the offer. Once again, the generosity and kindness of the people on this forum never ceases to amaze.... Cheers, Parky
  24. My how time flys

And Typhoon wouldn't have been able to do that if I hadn't mailed him a DVD before that.......soooo.....you owe me a skin, ya' bastard. Cheers Mate, Parky
  25. As long as it's by December 22nd 2012, we should have enough time to get it installed and take a few flights before being smashed in the head by a gigantic granite slab that's been ripped from the Mayan calendar. Works for me.... Cheers, Parky
