Hi

this really is a last resort plea for help. I have read all the threads I can find on how to change aircraft types in a campaign, but it just will not work. I have the TSR2 downloaded and it works well in single mission, I then extracted the European campaign files and moved them to the mod in Europe. edited the data and its mate but still just get the stock campaign. Do I need to get rid of the original campaign files for the new ones to work?

If you tell us exactly what files you edited, exactly what you changed in them, and exactly where you put them, we should be able to help you figure this out...

Same problem here.

Do you have the Europe Expansion 2? I was able to add planes before I got that, now it doesn't seem to work.

I edited the campaign_data and ini files only. Just added a flyable Mirage3 to the '62 campaign. I swear it worked before the latest update and expansion.

Anyone?

Again - what exactly were the changes you made and where did you put the files afterward?

Campaign edits work just fine in SF2. I have done several.

I just added another flyable to the campaigne1.ini, at the bottom. It is the first MirageIII squadron. I just copied and pasted from the squadron before it, and changed the appropriate unit numbers and plane type to match what's in the campaigne1_data.ini . I also tried changing everything to campaigne6 (I already have a 5, which is also not working right) Then It crashed my system. All I did was extract the Campaigne1 stuff, and put the _dat.INI and .INI in the CAMPAIGNE/campaigne1 folder in mydocs/Thirdwire/Europe. And I just added the Nesher pit to the Mirage, changed the .INI and it is flyable in the single mission builder.

Try: CAMPAIGNS/campaigne1

Try: CAMPAIGNS/campaigne1

Sorry, that was a typo. It is with an "S" in my folder. I even followed all the steps from the "How to" in the knowledge base forum. I don't understand. France is a flyable nation in this campaign, and the unit I want to make flyable is already in there. I thought it would be a simple task to make it selectable.

This is what I added:

[FranceUnit005]
Squadron=2-1FAF
ForceID=1
UnitID=50
StartDate=10/28/1962
DescFile=woe1Start.txt
StartText=woe1Start1.txt
AircraftType=MirageIIIC

This is what's in the _data.ini, but I changed nothing:

[AirUnit050]
AircraftType=MirageIIIC
Squadron=2-1FAF
ForceID=1
Nation=FRANCE
StartDate=10/28/1962
DefaultTexture=FrenchSilver1
BaseArea=Lahr Airbase
BaseMoveChance=5
RandomChance=100
MaxAircraft=16
StartAircraft=16
MaxPilots=16
StartPilots=16
Experience=100
Morale=100
Supply=80
MissionChance[sWEEP]=30
MissionChance[CAP]=60
MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=90
MissionChance[ESCORT]=20
MissionChance[sTRIKE]=0
MissionChance[CAS]=10
MissionChance[sEAD]=10
MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=10
MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0
MissionChance[RECON]=0
UpgradeType=NEVER

BTW, I have all 4 SF2 games + Expansion 2 merged, Jan2011 update. I bought the 4 pack special deal last Christmas.

The French MirageIIIC isn't flyable with the stock games (the Israeli version is).

You need to install NF4+ to get flyable MirageIIIC. And then in NF4+, the MirageIIIC is already added to the campagin!

Excuse me, I think I have been typing "Nesher" in this post when I meant "Shahak"...

So, even though I edited the stock (non-Shahak) Mirage3C to make it flyable in single missions, there is some check that keeps you from editing and flying it in the campaigns?

PS, I have also made the Mirage5's flyable using the Nesher pit.

FIXED!!!

In the stock CAMPAIGNE1_DATA.INI file, the Mirage was called "MirageIIIC". The proper name is "Mirage3C". I don't know if it was a mistake on TK's part, or he was using it as a placeholder.

Anyways, now may fav plane is flyable in my fav campaign.

I appreciate the help.
