Cant get SF1 weapons editor to work in Windows 7

I am running SF1 in windows 7 just fine, but the 2008 nor the 2006 weapons editor will allow me to open files. In fact the only thing that will work on it is the create new weapon feature. Otherwise its just a white screen. Any help here? Im planning to download SF2 on my other computer when I get it fixed, but until then I dont want to be flying around with no missiles on my Soviet fighters!!

Try running the weapons editor from inside a .zip or .rar file.

Run it in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Me. You'll find it in the properties of the Weapons Editor executable.
