firehawk66 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) Is there anywhere on this site where I can find a guide to skinning aircraft? I have made a Grim Reapers skin for the F-14 and when I try it out the aircraft is black all over, so I just need some one to confirm the BMP attributes and any file naming rules to get it to show up. Thank you Edited August 20, 2011 by firehawk66 Quote
ValAstur Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) You have to assure that the bmp is saved as a 24-bit bmp-file. Otherwise you will get the black skin. Concerning the file-names: Look into a folder of a camo inside the main plane folder. there you will find some bmp-files. Check that the modified bmp-file gets the exact name. An example: if one file inside the folder is named "wings.bmp", the correspondent file has to be named "wings.bmp" too. Otherwise it won't function. If you are not sure, send me the link to the plane you want to create the skin for and the your files and I will look it up. Edited August 20, 2011 by NazGhul Quote
firehawk66 Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Thank you, I think my BMP is not 24-bit so that could be it. Thank you Quote
firehawk66 Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Update, my BMP files are indeed 24-bit. They are in RGB 8-bit mode in photoshop if that is the issue.....? Quote
