Change of weapon skins

Can I change the skin of weapons? For example I want to change the blue Super 530D/F camo and replace it with the more detailed grey camo. I know that a weapon displays the image file which is being included inside the weapon's lod file. I don't think that I only have to delete the default image and replace with a new one by using the same image file name.

Why not, that has always worked for me.

As long as you keep the file name and type the same as the original ones, you should be fine.

I tried to do exactly this thing but it seems that this doesn't work in my case. I also can't understand why many weapons from weapon pack don't include any lod files. Do they share them with the stock stuff?
