I know that a huge amount of research has gone into making planes historically accurate, and trench lines move according to the historical clock as does weather we fly in. But as I was looking at P4 pics. posted by Pol, I became aware of a rather large city that faded off into the distance. Which added another whole dimension to the research load, and modeling, even if modular units are used to create buildings. I don't know how much of France is modeled in OFF, but would I be correct in assuming cities to be accurately modeled?

There is one famous cathedral modelled, with a statue, which hung from the destroyed tower later on in the war.

I forgot which town - Bapaume? Ypres?

And they have modelled that! London is really big in P4! See all the screenshots.

Olham's thinking of the Basilica at Albert and the leaning statue of Mary and the Infant Jesus: Link

But is the layout of the streets the same as 1914-1918? And what of France in P3? Cities and towns of today grew from villages and hamlets in WWI. I was thinking of the research needed to make all these towns\cities look right from the air.

Hauksbee, I guess it would be a useless waste of ressources and energy, to model the towns correct,

down to the streets as they were. Especially, as no player knows about these details anyway.

No, I'd think the model a town in a suitable size, and then add some buildings, which were known landmarks.

In London, you would find the Tower Bridge, House of Parliament with Big Ben etc. etc.

In Albert you would see this famous ruin of the cathedral.

It would be top notch for me, if the statue would appear hanging on it's side from a certain war date on.

I'd have to agree that modeling towns and villages would be a waste of resources seeing as the game play never gets down to street level. I only ask because I've gotten so used to hearing lavish praise for the Devs that I'm now convinced they can walk on water.

We can. It is -10 C here today!!!

Cheers

If you truly can, then it begs the question; "Where is P4?" On the the other hand, I can understand that nothing moves very fast at -10C.

Good one, shredder.

Hauksbee, perhaps you regard the waiting as your No.1 Samurai Zen lesson - impatience kills the fighter.
