Dutchy 0 Posted November 16, 2004 I spend times on the internet to see if their is news, forums or sites about the living today WW1 veterans. It is not easy to search, does somebody know if their is a site where I can find names, birthdates and records how many are still alive? I am intrested in their stories (maybe some has it told on a internet news site). What I know is that are in Great Brittian living around 23 veterans. But I don't read about American, France, German or other countries. Thanks allready for links of sites and helping. Salute Dutchy
PG_Raptor 0 Posted November 16, 2004 Wow... WWI... I didn't think there was anybody left. They'd have to be at least 104 years old by now. Wow
Dutchy 0 Posted November 16, 2004 PG-Raptor, this is what I found on the internet. Read it and look at the pictures. And mine problem is that I can only find about British veterans. The last two Belgium veterans died this summer. Salute Dutchy

Weasel Keeper 0 Posted November 18, 2004 Both of my Great Grandfathers who were WWI veterans passed away about 25-30 years ago. Good luck with your search.
Dutchy 0 Posted November 19, 2004 Weasel_87FIS, do you also know were your grandfathers fight? Salute Dutchy
Weasel Keeper 0 Posted November 21, 2004 Dutchy I could do some research and find out exactly where but that will take some time. I'll see what I can do and get back to you. What I do know is they both were in France and both were infantry. Both made it out without injury and lived long lives well into his 80s for one and 70s for the other...and like I said they both passed away 25-30 years ago. Dutchy 0 Posted December 2, 2004 To Weasel_87FIS, Americans did fight in France and they had their first own operational fight victory in Saint-Mihiel ast September 16 1918. Before that they were under command of France or English Generals and others. Argonne woods is also a place where they fight, there was also the 82nd Division (we know it as 83nd AA, in 1944 Airborn operations D-Day: AA stands for All American) Near Cambrai at Bellicourt and Riqueval is a monument for the Americans and a cemetary. If you wanna know more about the war. I reccomand www.firstworldwar.com. And is that not enough. Just surf on the internet or let me know it and I will help you. Thanks for your help and searching.
