CWMV Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I have been looking around for a fix to the 2D exhaust smoke seen in SF2I. Having seen nothing in the SF2 downloads section/forums, I stumbled across those done for SF1. DL'd, opened, read the readme. Installed according to instructions and...no dice. Is the format for effects between SF1 and 2 so different that a new mothod of install is necessary? If so is there a write up somewhere? Ive found them for converting mods back and forth between the two games, but not relating to effects. Thanks all. Quote
Fubar512 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 There's a thread dedicated to just that very subject in the SF2 Knowledge base. In short, all effects require a shader effects statement in their materials section. Quote
CWMV Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) This one right? http://combatace.com...effects-in-sf2/ Got an abbreviated version? I think my eyes glazed over half way through the code in the first post. Very technical it would seem. EDIT: And as I read through it a second and third time it seems to me that there is little in common between making these weapons effects and adding others, in my case engine smokes. Ive tried using this mod for a better engine smoke from early jets: http://combatace.com/files/file/8943-new-dirty-exhaust-effect/ When I read the readme about adding the mod it seems that there are large sections of the aircraft's .ini file that are missing and/or have been revamped between SF1 and 2. It makes this quite confusing! Edited December 29, 2011 by CWMV Quote
