crl848 9 Posted January 7, 2012 Ok, I feel a bit like Homer Simpson for even considering extending my Dell warranty. I've got a 2 year old PC and have the option to extend. A month ago one of my dual video cards blew up and the Dell helpdesk was great at talking me though troubleshooting, finding the one that had blown and sending a replacement. I'm currently running the old NVidia 9800 GT and a new GTS 240 sent by them. So what do you think? Should I do it or is it a waste of money? Bear in mind that I'm not hugely comfortable replacing components though I did replace the PSU on my last PC. Thanks... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
MigBuster 2,884 Posted January 7, 2012 Well you used them and you got good service - so at least you got some value from it - that's not always the case with warranties - sometimes they aren't worth the paper they are written on when something goes wrong. I never buy warranties or similar unless there is a good reason - so would never get one for a PC because I can just fix it myself - but for a massive Fridge freezer its good to know that they will come and replace it for me without the hassle.
