Olham 163 Report post Posted March 24, 2012 "THE VINTAGE AVIATOR" have restored a Mercedes D.IIIa engine. They found an interesting repair - either a field modification, or done at an Armee-Flugpark - the black bracing in this photo. I wonder what happened to the original. Was it shot away, or did it break in a crash landing?
