+Major Lee Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Hello, need some advice on a wireless transmitter. I have a conventional ethernet/DSL network at home. I need to add a wireless transmitter so my wife can best use her Nook... Any suggestions as to appropriate hardware? Is there a transmitter on a PCI card that I could use? D-Link DSL modem/router with four RJ45 jacks. My computer Wife's computer Network printer (coming soon) Network storage drive (coming soon) Thanks in advance... ML Quote
Panama Red Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 All we did is add an "access point" box (it is tied back to your router with a cable). With this we have Wi-Fi at the other side of the house from the modem/router. Quote
+Major Lee Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Thanks for the clue about the AP (access point). I found a neat little ASUS wi-fi PCE-N15 card at Newegg... This card is just a wi-fi transmitter/receiver for a PCIEx1 slot. Got it installed tonight, configured the software AP and my wife is online with her Nook... Quote
