Dutchy Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 I heard it to yesterday of the CH-53 Stallion. One word: "terrible". What was the reason that it come down? A rocket or engine faillure? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Auschwitz, that also been rememberd in mine country the Netherlands. Our president, queen her son and his wife go to Auschwitz today. The whole week you can see people talking about it on tv or in the newspapers. Salute Dutchy Quote
Nesher Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 unknown... :\ still checking that out.. Quote
Dagger Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 early reports are the crash was due mainly to the conditions at the time.Pilots have been told to fly low and fast, there was a sand storm at the time of the crash.A few of men lost that day,not in crash but in an ambush were from a reserve unit from here in Va.My heart goes out to their families. ThomasDWeiss Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 A terrible tragedy - such a huge loss of life. It reminded me of a similar horrible accident a few years ago in northern Israel when two CH-53D collided mid-air. Quote
Nesher Posted January 28, 2005 Author Posted January 28, 2005 yes Thomas... it was horrible 73 soldiers lost their life in that collision Quote
Dutchy Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Never heard of that crash in Israël. So many soldiers died. Most big crashes I heard about it. A CH-53 (all types) can take a lot of people or equipment in it. So when one comes down and it is a full house, than is it always a big disaster. Sorry, I have to say, when a plane or helicopter went down than is it nearly always a disaster. Never mind how many are in it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ even about the remark en remembrance Auschwitz. I did watch tv yesterday and I was impressed. The queen of mine country was the seven or eight person that lay a candle on the gravemarks (were that gravemarks?). Salute Dutchy Quote
Dutchy Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Nesher, the wise words under your name. Are months ago dropped for the first time by me in a topic about Israël. I like it to see that you used them. Keep them and use them proud. Salute Dutchy Quote
Nesher Posted January 28, 2005 Author Posted January 28, 2005 you are thw wise man.. don't worry we sure gonna use them thanks Douchy about the gravemarks, i'm sure u can find info over the web it was a sad days in so many ways.... Quote
cood Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 The story was buried on page 11 of the local newspaper(San Francisco Chronicle), although this day saw the highest number of US fatalities since the invasion. Seems are rulers don't want any distractions from their rigged election. Quote
