Fates Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 We just finished a Major Inspection on this Global Express. The aircraft was completely gutted, a structural inspection done for corrosion, along with thousands of hours of maintenance, modification, alteration, gear overhaul, paint, refurb, you name it. The Project took 4 months from start to finish and we were glad to see it leave today, squawk free and on time. +Erik Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Bombardier builds a decent aircraft with a decent range and ceiling, couldn't have been that big of headache. In this economy we need a lot more of that to spread around. Nice job getting it back airworthy. Was it a repo? Quote
Fates Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Not a repo. Customers aircraft. We have another one coming in just a few weeks, and another 2 months after that. Back to back big jobs. Quote
DWCAce Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Those things take up some serious ramp/hangar space. Quote
Erik Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Did you get any snaps of it re-outfitted before it departed? Quote
ST0RM Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Nice long term project. 4 months is a lot of down time for a biz jet. Why the huge makeover? I see the paint stayed the same. -Jeff Quote
Fates Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Paint when from Blue to Black and bottom coat was dropped down quite a bit. The rest just needed to be painted as it was 10 years old. The huge makeover was do. These aircraft experience a HUGE inspection every ten years and paint and interior usually follow, along with some serious avionics upgrades to prepare the aircraft for WAAS/LPV, Fan1A, CPDLC, etc Quote
Erik Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Given it was 10 years old do you have any idea what the TTAF was? So you guys do D Checks up there? Very nice. Quote
