BAC Lightning F.51 - No.9 Squadron, Pakistan Air Force, 1965

During the 1960s, Pakistan investigated the possibility of buying as many as 40 English Electric Lightnings; however, Britain was not enthusiastic about the potential sales opportunity because of the damage it would do to its relations with India, which at the time was still awaiting the delivery of large numbers of ex-RAF Hunters.
