I am using Desert Storm Mod and Vietnam. So I started campaign flying A-6. 90% of missions are flown during day light. We all know that A-6 flow many missions at night time. I changed in A-6 data.ini  from AircraftCapability=DAY_AND_NIGHT

to just Night. All missions are night missions. and all of them following same profile as day srikes. They are all big Alpha strikes. And MiGs-17 are flying every night, which is strange.

Is the any way to make it more realistic? For example A-6 flying 2 missions at night than big Alpha strike during day, than again couple night missions (but not Alpha strike)?

Bear is mind, that the AI sees just as well during the night as during the day. You can even change the time of the day, while on a mission, by hitting Alt+C enough times.

So, day vs night is not a thing this game handles well. :glare:

That's a flaw with most sims unfortunately - I just ignore A-A and only engage on radar if you can ID them.

Dont think you can shape DAY/NIGHT missions in a campaign to that specific level.

I know that AI sees day and night and in foul weather. But I just would love to see night low level strikes flown by Intruder in Vietnam. Oh well, no luck here.

You must have

AircraftCapability=NIGHT_ONLY

in your Data.ini.

I'm getting about 80% of missions at dusk, dawn or night in KAW and VPAF dynamic campaigns using this parameter.

There's only one thing: strange, but looks like NIGHT_ONLY don't work with naval campaigns.

I did that and it seems to work with naval campaigns. But all AI planes are flying also at night, even though some of the have set to AircraftCapability=DAY_ONLY

Sadly there's nothing to do with AI planes. They are always fly randomly.

"Naval Campaign" is a feature of SF2 North Atlantics and patches since July 2012. It adds escort ships to carriers and allows Task Forces to move and fight with each other.

Previous games (SF2 Vietnam and other) don't have this mode. But some mods (Falklands War Redux, for ex.) can support naval battles.

You can check your *campaign*_data.ini - if there is no  NavalCampaign=TRUE  string, then naval battles is disabled.

That's what I mean:
