Sweetfx and Falcon 4 AF

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to apply Sweetfx to Falcon 4 AF?

I have tried several ways to get it to work, and nothing.

I have searched everywhere but found nothing for AF.

I know it works with BMS but I can't believe no one hasn't

tried it with AF. Or maybe they have and no one could get it to work.

Thanks...

Well I "think" that the game must at least utilise DirectX 9 to make the SweetFx work - Falcon 4 AF is a DirectX 7 game, iirc.

Well the box specs says DirectX version 9.0b or higher and that

9.0b is included on the disk.

So it must be someother problem. But thanks for your reply.

Crikey yeah was DX7 level - they did improve the lighting somewhat compared to Falcon4.0

If you are worried about Graphics then AF is not going to deliver (even if SweetFX did work).

Yes the box does say that - but pretty certain it wasn't - need to check..............

Being at DX9b would allow you to run newer games at the time and still be backwards compatible with older DX versions (although they stopped that after DX10)

Yeah, the game uses only fixed T&L (transformation & lighting - DirectX 7 features) and no programmable pixel & vertex shaders (DIrectX 8 and newer), unlike Falcon BMS 4.32 which is a DirectX 9.0c beast :)

Sorry SFP1Ace, looks like you may be correct regardless what the box says.

Thanks for making that clear MigBuster, I guess I can stop trying with this thing

and move on...

You have been very helpful to those of us with head up rectum.
