In 1944, he proposed a plan to eliminate the german thread by simply stripping them from all military equipment and the removal of all the necessary indsutrial installations needed for warfaring. According to him, Germany should have become a land of farmers only. The plan was withdrawn, but Germany nevertheless became a land of farmers, but not of those Morgenthau wanted...
