jeanba Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Hello I am trying to modify the Israeli map by replacing in some artillery positions T34 with D-20 152 mm The D20 is properly installed in my objects / ground directory and I can see it works well for instance by creating a close air support mission. But if I create a strike mission : The D-20 can be properly designed as strike objective During the mission, it can be "targeted", but if I try to visualize it (shift F8), the gun is invisible. I defined the "target type" as follows : (it is very similar to the M109 defined in Israel2 terrain by Wrench : [TargetType208] Name=d-20 FullName=D-20 152mm Artillery TargetType=ARTILLERY ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=150 UseGroundObject=TRUE GroundObjectType=D-20 RepairRate=0.0 StartDetectChance=50 StartIdentifiedChance=25 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DamagedModel= DestroyedEffect=SmallRocketGroundExplosion SecondaryEffect=VehicleFireEffect DestroyedModel=Crater.LOD SecondaryChance=100 Can you help me ? Thank you in advance Quote
Wrench Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 How are you looking for it "in game"? Use a "targets test mission", and make sure the object is actually there. if you're just scrolling around on the map, it may not have spawned. Ground Objects only exist in a 50km "bubble of reality" around the Player's aircraft Try adding this line to the _types entry, below the FullName= ModelName=D-20.lod it shouldn't make any difference, as all that info is in the objects files within it's GO folder. But it can't hurt. the example below shows several different items, 88Pak43, French M1897 75mm, FT-17C, and an Sdkfz-251 w/2cm flak gun. and they all work, and shoot 2 Quote
jeanba Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Thank you wrench My input was fully ok Actually, I had made a test mission but I checked the gun with my plane tto far from ti as you told. I remade teh test, and you can see the results in the screenshot section :) Quote
Wrench Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 glad you got it working!! Saw the screenshots. I've done this for so long, it's almost instinctual, and I have to think about it when explaining it someone Quote
