+EricJ 4,238 Posted October 20 Right now things are again at a dull roar. I've been dealing with some family issues at home so been somewhat busy as can be, but it's not too bad and things are going okay. Anyway, BradMick from the Project Hatchet should hopefully give up the HeliSim profile for the Kiowa, so I'll be learning how to integrate it into the helicopter. I'm thinking of just basic texturing the gun pod with the closest coloration that it had. As for the GAU-19 I'll get to it sometime pending reference shots and whatnot. Wiki shows no use of the ATAS so I may not do it. In a future update I'll be removing the BIS pylon weaponry and stick to operational use weapons, which will be pretty soon after this post probably, just to wean players off of it, unless there is a desire to keep it. Other helicopter news just doing some minor tweaks for the UH-92s, and adding some wire strike stuff to the MH-92s, so not much on that front. I did submit (and it's live) a Pilot UH-1Y mission to the Workshop, so if you enjoy that helo and want to fly it SP, then check it out sometime. +EricJ 4,238 Posted October 28 Just so you know, I did try to do an autonomous UH-60, given the program that is being worked on. I don't know what utility it may have, but I did try it with it able to carry passengers. Apparently BIS doesn't like that, so I stopped working on it. I could just make it a regular UAV (if anybody is interested I can do that) with better cargo lifting weight, but as far as an autonomous troop carrier, no bueno. Other than some small things, work on the EricJ Helicopter Pack is something I'm finding less and less to think of and do. Work on the Kiowa is still sporadic, and I think I need to make the brass fall out when it fires, as I noticed the muzzle smoke just forward of the canopy when I fired it, or at least change the cartridge to better reflect the actual as close as possible shell size so it looks believable. Mostly the Need To Do work is on the Gatling barrels for the M197 and M134 pods for the MQ-17, that's about all I need to work on and figure out. If you know how to make the barrels rotate in the model.cfg for pod weapons, please let me know as I need to get those working, as everything is more or less working. There is an FM issue with the Kiowa, as a user found out that you can flip the helo backward and so on and various other settings. Overall, the flight model for the Kiowa is still WIP, and not a final form as I'm waiting on BradMick to release it so I can figure out how to implement it and no more issues. For now just take it easy while flying it, and you shouldn't have many issues doing anything. I'm also waiting on a texture PSD from ADuke (I found the original PSDs for the bird, so that's good), and hopefully, I can reliably get the color right in the future. +EricJ 4,238 Posted October 29 Just a note, for some reason I deleted the "m468_co.paa" file in some way or other. It's a known issue that the Barrett M468 in the mod (I think it's cursed now), the main texture is missing. I checked all of my files on my external and nothing, so I emailed ADuke (who did the base texture) and hopefully he'll have one on hand to make it "work" again. But then again if somebody could texture it and so on, then I'm open to anybody who can reliably do it. It can be remapped so there's that. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Again if you don't like it make your own edits and so on. - Fixed a filepath error - Added a "Taliban Infantry Squad", given to fit the game, unlike in reality where there were no defined squads and the like. +EricJ 4,238 Posted November 1 Okay right now I'm pretty much on a chill setting for mods. The Taliban Fighters is pretty much where its at and so on. The EricJ Weapon Pack has one issue and that's the Barrett M468. I don't know how the texture ended up missing, but somehow I deleted it. I asked ADuke if he's got a copy of the texture so I can insert it and kill that error. Overall, not much for the EricJ Helicopter Pack. I do have something to fix, but it's not game breaking, so I'll hold off until inspiration strikes me. As sorta hinted I wanted (and I think somebody hinted at it), a UAV able to transport human or AI players around, but mainly for milsims and the like. Also for the future (whenever I get my hands on it), I'm not sure if I want to put the SA-2 Samson in the helicopter pack, or standalone, but I may move it to standalone, and need to get a hold of James Cameron (it would be the good thing to do to at least ask if it's okay, failing that who knows) and at least cover my butt as far as IP issues and the like, but that's for the future. I've been mainly focusing on mission stuff and adapting missions for play. I don't know what's more popular, SP or MP missions, so I just make them and hope somebody plays them. Some of my missions have shown to be popular, but it's hard to gauge what people like with some metrics and the like. Anyway, I don't have much planned right now, which is nice as I can sorta chill and see what hits my mind in the future. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

+EricJ 4,238 Posted November 5 Right now I'm practically "feature complete" more or less with the EricJ Helicopter Pack. I really don't have much to add and feel that maybe I can take a good long break from it, hence the two updates today. I was going to post tomorrow but decided to upload it and get it over with, so I can walk away from it for a while until something new comes along and the like. As for other mods, I still have to work on the Kiowa, and tomorrow going to hit it with an attempt to color it better. What templates I have I can do something with it and see if I can't get the right color and get that finished. Not much else is planned and that means probably a few missions in the works down the road and the like. Not much on the plate really, so that's a good thing, but tomorrow the Kiowa at least, get it settled and see what happens. There are some issues with the mapping since the colors don't cover the whole aircraft, I'll post a screenshot of what I'm talking about in my WIP thread when I can. +EricJ 4,238 Posted November 6 With the tapering off of the mods and such, most of the work will focus on the Kiowa and whatever comes along. Right now I'm considering moving the Kiowa from "Alpha" status to maybe at least a workable mod. I don't know when but soon (I don't want to piss off the people at the Arma Discord for another quick update of the same mod and such) I'll take if off it. What's left to do? The GAU-19 is on the list, and have to sit down and find workable reference images. I'm focusing on what was in service. I know of the ATAS and the like, but I don't consider it as actually deployed, as well other than tests it was to my knowledge issued to line units and was used. I'm more familiar with the Hellfires, rockets, and guns. I think now that the mod is almost complete as is, so will go from an "AC" designation to an "RC" designation, and will start off with next update, which will probably be when I get the GAU-19 done. Currently I have other things on my mind, such as the death of my father due to natural complications. There are a few other things going on in other places right now and I'm a bit distracted, so a day off or so from modding might be what I need.
