help getting mods to work

HI everyone,

I'm late to this sim (I happily have Il-2,WOFF, and Rof), and got it for the sole purpose of flying WWI in Italy and Palestine.  But, I can't get any mods to work, specifically the Italian campaign or the Palestin terrain.  I'm running Win 7, and have indeed placed the mods in my (me)/saved games/thirdwire/firsteagles2 folder, but nothing shows up when I start the sim.  I even at one time placed all the files directly into my main install, but no good.  Reinstalled vanilla, and still nothing.  I am obviously missing something, but I'm da**ed if I know what.  Any ideas please?!?!

Hello lofty_c, welcome to First Eagles. I think you'll enjoy it.

In First Eagles 2, the "Terrains" folder is plural, add an "s" to your folder name. (In First Eagles 1 it is singular, so the installation instructions can get confusing.) Let us know if this solves your problem.

Bingo ! Well, sort off.  Italy now exists (yay!), but oddly I created a pilot in the Italian air service, and my first mission is in an AEG for Austria.  I'm a traitor?   Any quick ideas on that before I head back to the past posts?

No, I do have both versions, but I still prefer the first generation of First Eagles.

But why? A more productive engine, the ability to use a bump and specular-mapping, a simpler modding and some other sweets... However, I also prefer FE1 - maybe because I don't have FE2. If my memory serves me, not long ago you also did not have a 2ndGens. So I congratulate you on a new acquisition.
