Hauksbee Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 After seeing Blade 1's "Stories from the Battle of Britain", I was reminded of this article found on YouTube. The sisters were young women, barely out of their 'teens, who volunteered for military flight training to ferry planes from factory to air bases. These were, for the most part, girls who had never been away from home and had never driven a car. They were trained on Tiger Moths and given Spits and Hurricanes; trained on 2-engine Ansons only to discover their first assignment would be to deliver a 4-engined Lancaster. But they knuckled down and did it. Quote
