It would probably make it through design, cost analysis, and purchasing and then after building the first 25 of them they'd actually hit the test pilot phase where Lt. "Guns Jammed" Pritchard would discover that the whole canopy and ejection system needs a serious overhaul. Noted on his pilot report after watching his REO imitate a fly on a windscreen ejecting into the radar dome. Probably worth the 50 billion they would have spent to that point though.
