  1. File Name: DangerZone.zip File Submitter: Saedor File Submitted: 26 Dec 2004 File Category: SF Missions/Campaigns This campaign is a campaign based on the movie "Top Gun", based on David Slavens and Ken Bordeaux's original Top Gun campaign, which you can download at www.avisim.com. With the release of the F-14A, it only seemed logical to put together a campaign based on the move "Top Gun". For this campaign you will need the following files. David Slaven's "Scal" terrain which comes with his Top Gun campaign, which you can get at Avsim. The F-14A Tomcat, which can be obtained from http://www.column5.us Click here to download this file

  3. Yes, it's worth it. However, you will need to update it with both patch 1 and patch 2 to get the best game play. Straight out of the box it IS a bit lacking, but the patches make it a great game. One of the greatest things about it is it's mod-ability. There is a strong SFP1 community on the web that is constantly putting out quality mods, in the form of aircraft skins, new aircraft, new campaigns and new terrain. Personally, I also play IL2 FB-AEP and CFS3, but I still keep coming back to SFP1. It's just plain FUN!
  4. Nice Job! But it looks like a P-47B or P-47C, not a P-47D. The D model had a bubble canopy. Whoops, just double-checked... the bubble canopy didn't become standard until the P-47D-25-E series. Sorry. :)
  5. Wow, I can't wait! I'be been looking forward to the F9F since I watched "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" a couple months ago. :)
  6. The boxed verion comes with a manual and a quick reference card showing the keyboard commands.
  7. I'm still learning how to make terrain, but I've started working on my own Indochina map. I know my final product won't hold a candle to the version being out together by the more experienced modders, but I'm having fun with it anyway. Here's my map so far...
  8. I thought the Navy put their name on their planes in big letters to keep them from shooting each other down. :)
  9. Basically a modification of David Slavens and Ken Bordeaux's Top Gun campaign, my Red Flag campaign moves the action from Miramar to Nellis AFB. You fly USAF F-4E's against USAF Aggressor F-5E's (you'll need to download the F-5E seperately). You can find Red Flag at www.avsim.com (I woulda uploaded it here, but there was a 2.0mb limit, and the zip file is over 10mb, as it includes terrain)
  10. I can't download the Cyprus campaign from the biohaz central downloads page. The Zip file won't opwn. Also, the download is listed at 20+ megabytes, but when I download it I only get 11 megabytes. Anyone know anyhere else I can get the full file from?
  11. Yeah, I can play it, but some odd things happen. Sometimes the exhaust trails go sideways. And there seems to be an invisible wall preventing Greek planes from apporoching some islands.... weird.
  12. Yay! There's no such thing as too many planes. :)
  13. Oops, nevermind. I found it at SFP.1 Central.
  14. I really love SF:P1, but I have one problem. For some reason, the terrain directly beneath my aircraft is being rendered in a different shade than the more distant terrain. As the aircraft moves, the 'box' of greyish terrain moves with it. Anyone know what might be causing this? I don't see it in anyone elses screenshots I've seen. I have tried altering the graphics settings, but it doen't have any effect. I have attatched a couple screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about. System Info; Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.030422-1633) System Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation System Model: Dimension 2300 BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 1.80GHz Memory: 638MB RAM Page File: 129MB used, 1432MB available DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0 (4.09.0000.0900)
  15. As usual, I was looking at the problem as being far more complicated than it really was. I downloaded the latest drivers for my system from Intel, and, Voila! Problem solved! Heres a screenshot of my Tiawanese F-86F over the beautiful Taiwan terrain by USAFTML and Wolf257 that I downloaded recently.
  16. Yeah, I think thats what it is. I have the integrated Intel graphics.
  17. I saw some MiG cockpit screens on MarcFighters site, http://marcfighters.com Also, I've been playing the Yom Kippur War campaign I found on AVSIM online, http://avsim.com It has a real Middle East map (not a remake of the Dhimar campaign map). Really cool! I can't wait for the Mystere IV, and Mirage III. once their out the middle east theatre will be a great one for campaigns.
  18. Heres another screenshot
