Yes Ladies and Gentlemen it's that time of year again. It was a great game Saturday night between the VA Tech Hokies and the Trojans of USC. Despite my team losing, they did a great job against the supposed #1 Power House. Personally I think the offensive pass interference call that was the turning point in the game was about as bogus as most referees are these days. WE WANT INSTANT REPLAY...... (although it doesn't work for penalties as we know the refs are fool proof.) ;) Anyway, It Football time......... :D

Half-Life 2 pre-loading begins to Steam account holders today. Over the coming days, those who have selected the pre-loading option will have encrypted Half-Life 2 files delivered to their PC. No purchase is required to pre-load HL2, but is required to activate the game. Purchase options will be released soon. Don't know if I'd mess with a good thing then. As I think most people reported maybe a 1-3 fps increase at the most. It was mostly a fix for things like artifacting and freezes I believe.

ATI also has a hot fix out based on the 4.9 cats specifically for Doom 3. Just a FYI. You can find it on their site. ;)

I hate to see her go also, spent 8 years with this ole girl. Best darn weapons system around. Nothing like final checkin one of these birds getting ready to take a cat. The noise, heat, the sheer energy of the shot. Being that close to 60 ft. of flame coming out of them engines as she goes through the zones. Almost brings a tear to the eye. Actually there Dutchy the so-called Dream team this year by far does not measure up to the dream teams of yesteryear. I don't understand how they twisted the rules to allow Professional Athletes to compete in the Olympics. I had somehow thought the Olympics were about amatuer Athletes competeing. So I think it's humerous that the Basketball team lost, even though I know that other countries are also using NBA Basketball stars to prop up their teams also. :D

Dutchy, the voting system works if the people are smart enuff to utilize it. ;) If they can't read, they kind of get disenfranchised (I hate that darn word) by proxy. I personally don't trust the Europeans to come over here and monitor anything, not with the sentiments held out on the European Front Politically at the moment.

Not certain, but the way I understand it, is this. The top 10 will have their points reset and the run for the championship will commence with 10 races left in the season. The 400 pt rule would only come into play if there is a tight race going on and would only be used to allow more drivers into the chase. Such as say the top 15 drivers were within 400 pts of the leader with these ten races to go then all 15 drivers would be eligible for the run. Personally I think the old way of doing was doin just fine. There are alot of different senarios that could play out. Imagine wrecking twice in the last two races or so and having it been somebody outside of the race for the championship that wrecked ya. With basically only the top drivers actually accumulating points that count, don't make anybody outside of the group of drivers mad..... ;) This green white and checkers deal is another problem now. Guess that will take the fuel mileage out of the bidding for wins. If your gambling on being able to make it x number of miles, what happens if a wreck occurs with a couple of laps to go and boom x now becomes 2 to 4 miles further.

Anybody ever tried to post these files in a newsgroup. Just asking. I've always wondered why I haven't seen any patches or anything uploaded to the newsgroups.

A flyable f18 would be awesome, however, you haven't seen strut compression until you see me land on a carrier in one of them things.

I'll give it a go, not really that much into the fps, but with the cutting edge graphics -- will have to check it out. Not too sure my system is up for it however I'll let the game bring my system to it's knees before I give up. ;) (I'm sure my system is glad to hear this.)

Normally could care less what the beast looks like as long as it performs well. However, that thing looks awesome. Dedicated flight simmer I'd say, or at least a big historian. :D
