I should slightly revise what I said in my quote, above. There is a basic 3d model already available, assuming we can get permission from the original modeler (I believe he models for FC or has retired from modeling, so I don't think he is interested in working on the model for WOFF), so it was an updated version of the 3d model that was lost. I don't know how much extra work Oldhat put into the revised model before it was lost, but we wouldn't have to build it from scratch. Perhaps there is a young fella out there who wants to hone their 3d modelling skills who could give it a crack?

BH&H 2 Screenshots and Movies Thread

The EII has his cowling blown off! I love how your pilot, Albert, is looking in the direction of the enemy, as if he is contemplating what he has just done. -
Definitely not a deal-breaker. Far from it. When we are down to fussing over such minor annoyances, you know you have a superior product, which is a very rare thing, these days.

I figured the example in Fullofit's video was an example of the progressive damage model, which is a pretty good feature. The few times I have heard it in my own aircraft I'm fairly positive I hadn't used external view at all prior to hearing the sound. I may have been using the mouse view, however, although I doubt that should make any difference.
-
No, it happens just before the new pilot "oof" sound, indicating he has died or has been seriously injured. He hits the ground 20 or 30 seconds later.
-
Here is the youtube link: https://youtu.be/rAOOFMR4b2A The sound is around the 1:18 mark. Note: in this case, the sound is definitely linked to Fullofit's pilot, but I also occasionally hear it when it is obviously happening to someone else, even when they are far away.

What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?
BuckeyeBob replied to Rick Rawlings's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Rick's skies are beginning to get crowded! Lou, that is a fine looking medal! -
Pol, it's in the DiD pilot challenge thread at simhq. It was within two or three days ago. I'll see if I can go find it.

For an example of the "crunch" sound, watch Fullofit's short video of his pilot Rudi's demise. You can hear three successive crunches just before the view goes to the external camera. I think the sound occurs when some component or the pilot reaches 100% of their hit points, but you can sometimes hear it even when nothing has happened to your aircraft or pilot. It can be very loud.

Crunch!

Hour hand on cockpit clock not moving.

Z key is your friend in these situations. Yes, I know it is highly unrealistic, but whadda ya gonna do? ;) -
Look for Robert Wiggins or RJW's backup utility (he is too modest to mention it is his program).

Love the colors in the first pic. Looks like a little blue tint has been added. Very realistic. Second pic, while nice, is a bit too green for my tastes. -
What? A Rick Rawlings Challenge?
BuckeyeBob replied to Rick Rawlings's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Ha, Rick! Why didn't you show your face? Don't be shy! A little "Aimee" at the end, no? I may just have to enter this challenge, although I am sure to end up dead very quickly. Thanks for putting this together. -
Hospital time advance hits end of month wall
BuckeyeBob replied to epower's topic in WOFF/WOTR - FAQ/Technical Issues
I have seen this in previous versions of WOFF. I don't think it matters which side or what squadron you are in. I think it's a quirk of how the calendar works. -
? on Consolidated Custom Facilities Mods use
BuckeyeBob replied to rjw's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
I think the main question is whether your system has the juice to run the mod. If that is not an issue, than you should definitely try the mod. The airfields are no longer generic, are much more historically accurate (down to the placement of side roads, occasional tennis courts and apple orchards), and are bustling with "activity" (planes in and outside hangers, ack ems going about their work, even that barking dog we all hear before take off)! So, if your system can handle it, my conclusion is that the mod is a "must-have." Edit: based on WOFF PE, I would say you can expect to lose 5 - 10 fps depending on activity and location over the front if you use the mod. Not bad if you are consistently getting 80 - 100 fps, not so much if you are only getting 40 - 60. -
A word of caution here. I am indeed working on a fix for some of the cloud flashing oddities, and I feel I have made some progress in that regard, but I am not a miracle worker. There appear to be several different causes of cloud flashing and popping, dependent on various factors, including cloud type, time of day, sun and cloud position, aircraft and cloud height, etc., not to mention differences in computers, graphics cards, and so on. In other words, it's complicated! I'm afraid without an upgrade to DX11 or 12, there will always be an issue with clouds in the sim. On the positive side, I have almost totally eliminated cloud popping in high, cirrus type clouds. Cloud flashing or popping in heavy, mixed light and dark clouds at all altitudes, however, remains a problem, although I believe I have been able to reduce that too, at least to some extent. Flashing in low, flat clouds is also an issue, occasionally. I am always interested in testers, so if you have some time and would like to help out, please drop me a line.

CTD after Exit Mission command
BuckeyeBob replied to WangoTango's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Generally, I think all this means is that you have to run Windows media player once. No actual configuration required. -
Well, would you want to take off in that weather? The AI in BHaH2 is so smart that it knows it is useless to fly in pea-soup!

Mouse view now comparatively slow/ lacking previous fluidity
BuckeyeBob replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF/WOTR - FAQ/Technical Issues
Thanks for answering, Pol. Changes in my graphics settings are possible, due to a driver update from NVidia. I will look into it and report back. Otherwise, my frame rates appear smoother with BHaH2 with less stutter, so excellent work overall. -
I think RAF_Louvert created the bombsight mod. I imagine he is planning to update the mod for BHaH2, but you might ask him yourself, just to be sure.

Mouse view now comparatively slow/ lacking previous fluidity
BuckeyeBob replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF/WOTR - FAQ/Technical Issues
I can report the same issue as Redwolf with the sluggish mouse look response. It's a little like moving around in mud. I've also noticed my TrackIR tracking speed is slower. I can easily adjust that in the settings, but I thought I should let people know that Redwolf isn't the only one experiencing this problem, minor as it may be. My system is definitely not top of the line, with an i-5 3.5 G processor and a Nvidia 1050Ti card. No mods, other than PR's BT mod. My system is overclocked to 4.2 Gigs, but if I go back to stock I have trouble playing after mid 1917. Mouse and TrackIR settings unchanged from WOFF PE.
