Best book on the air war in WWI?
Boelcke replied to rwmarth's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
"Aces falling" and "Bloody April" from Peter Hart are very good reads -
Hi all, i just installed Windows 7 (32 Bit) and can´t get OFF runing again. The Problem is CFS 3 i think, cause i can install CFS3 and patch to 3.1a, but i can´t start CFS3 or CFS3config.exe, only error messages are the result, no matter what i try. Even starting in winXP mode doesn´t work. I installed OFF "on top" - the game launches and i am able to create pilots, but when going to flied/start a mission or quick combat only error messages are the result. I tried to copy the old files from OFF and CFS3 of my former installation from WinXP, but no luck. What to do?

Problems with installing under Win 7
Boelcke replied to Boelcke's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
no "feelable" difference to win XP -
I´m using a Saitek Evo Force with Win 7 and do have a similar problem - the stick works, but the force feedback feature is gone. In Saiteks own Forum i saw that some people did had the same problem with Vista in the past, but the described registry tweaks to solve that problem didn´t work for me. The old Vista drivers are now shown as "Vista and Windows 7" drivers, so that there is little hope the problem will be solved in the near future.

Problems with installing under Win 7
Boelcke replied to Boelcke's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
thx, i have the old install form OFF on another HD (and from CFS3)which i can copy - do i need CFS3 even so? The install i did with Win 7 was a new/clean install form both, CFS3 and OFF - but i couldn´t CFS 3 make working. Error messages complaining about a non existing configoverride.xml, but i can´t start CFS3config.exe to create it. I copied the old one from my old HD to the concerning User\application data ... folder but no joy. When starting OFF and starting a mission, there is an error message showing, that the configoverride.xml is an old version and back it goes to the main screen. -

File Name: The wild huntsman - Willi Reschke Ta 152 campaign File Submitter: Boelcke File Submitted: 31 May 2007 File Category: Campaigns & Missions To run the campaign you need IL2 Sturmovik 1946 (version 4.08). The package contains the campaign files and a exclusive skinpack from RDDR for the JG 300/301/302 skins; only available with this campaign. Please unzip the files into a temp-folder and read the README bevor you start to install the campaign. If you have installed "the last days" (TLD) plese read the install.pdf!!! Reading the book from Willi Rreschke „Jagdgeschwader 303/302 wilde sau“ animated me to do a dynamic campaign about it. The JG 300/ 301 and 302 were named „wilde sau“, cause they were build in 1943, to stop the british night bombing of german cities, with Bf109 and Fw190. They flew without eletronics or radar equipment over the burning cities, to fight the bombers in range of vision. A job like suicide. These units were build by former bomber pilots. Step by step, they were used from the early year of 1944 on, as day fighters, till the end of the war. Their only duty was the defenese of the homeland. Willi Reschke served as fighterpliot in the JG 302 from summer 1944 in the defense of the reich. He first flew against the alliied bombers over ungary in summer 1944. In autum of 1944 the JG 302 was renamed or reorganizd into JG 301 an reequipped with Fw190 A8 and A9. With this plane he flew at the end of 1944 till 1945 over germany. In the beginning of 1945 his Jagdgeschwader (fighter wing) was used in the attempt, to stop the russian troops heading for Berlin. The JG 301 was the only german unit, which was equipped with a small number of the new Ta 152H fighters. Willi Reschke was one of the few, who flew with this plane. In my campaign, the Ta 152H will also be flyable in the second subcampaign, Reichsverteidigung 1944. The campaign • Ungary summer 1944: baptism of fire (Bf109G6) • Defense of the reich, end of 1944 • The last stand, Berlin 1945 You also could fly with JG 300, which used the Fw190A8 in the ungary campaign. The Ta 152H is playable even in the second subcampaign, as bonus or what-if. Have fun Click here to download this file

File Name: german channelfront campaign update to Vers. 1.1 File Submitter: Boelcke File Submitted: 17 May 2007 File Category: Campaigns & Missions In Version 1.1 i put in an additional subcampaign: Channelfront end of 1942: Fortresses ahead In this subcampaign, there is shown the first encounter of the B17 fortresses of france, since they flew their first missions over france from august of 1942 on. The fighter escort is done by Spitfires cause the first P47 fighters appeard at the beginning of the year 1943 (as far as I know). I fixed some bugs and made some changes: In the 1941 subcampaign i assigned the Hurricane IIb as Jabo only. Changed some skin assignments in the 1943 subcampaign for JG2. Changed the campaignsDe&.dat to show even the 41 subcampaign in the campaign menu (thx to vtrelut) Made some changes in the opsnormandy44h.dat, to avoid possible crashes (thx to vtrelut) Click here to download this file
