I will try to compile a list of the best confirmed tweaks that require editing of the LUA or CFG files etc.. If you got any good tips please respond to this thread and if your tip is good it will be added to the list. ALLWAYS BACK UP IMPORTANT FILES BEFORE EDITING THEM! Editing the view constraints: This tweak makes it possible to look all the way back over your shoulders without "bumping" into the headrest etc. Greatly improves SA. REcommend for trackIr users and pratically does away with the need for the new F4 view. Open the \config\view\cockpit.lua file in wordpad or any other simple editor. HAngleMAX is horizontal angle of freedom. VAngleMin is downward angle of freedom. VAngleMax is upward angle of freedom. Recommended Values: A-10: HAngleMaxDefault = 180.0 VAngleMinDefault = -72.5 VAngleMaxDefault = 115.0 Extended 50 degree horizontally and 7 degree downward. There is a big headrest prevent you from seeing engines and tail fins. But you can see 6 o'clock high clearly now. And you can check chaff and flare counters on the right console much easier. MiG-29,Su-27 and Su-33: HAngleMaxDefault = 145.0 VAngleMinDefault = -65.5 VAngleMaxDefault = 115.0 Extended 15 degree horizontally. You can see your 5 and 7 o'clock better. Su-25: HAngleMaxSu25 = 139.0 VAngleMinSu25 = -69.0 VAngleMaxSu25 = 115.0 Extended 44 degree horizontally and 4 degree downward. Not much improvement in situation awareness because of the ristrected view by window frames. F-15: HAngleMaxF15 = 180.0 VAngleMinF15 = -65.5 VAngleMaxF15 = 115.0 Extended 45 degree horizontally. Great improvement in situation awareness. You can see your 6 o'clock very clearly. Take off and look back! You see the runway you just departed from. Thanks to TekaTeka from Japan

The first download here on Biohaz that is part of the comming trend in mods: New countries ;) This one is Finland - created by Flying Russian. It includes pilots, ranks, medals and airplane markings Get it here It is Loman compatible but requires the user to create some folders for it... read the readme! -
Un Forces ....anyone??
GhostDog posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
I have seen that some are now working on mods that will add new countries. This is great as it will make all kinds of new scenarios possible. One thing i would very much like to see is UN peacekeeping troops with their white "camo" and all. IMHO UN peacekeepers would be a very likely force to be present in this particular area in case of a conflict or a potential conflict. I don't know if any of you guys here are involved with this kind of modding but i'm asking anyway. Is it a good idea? .. and is it doable? -
Reliable sources tells me this is the mod is the übermod for the fans of WWII combat. Take a look at the Forgotten Hope website - at least just for the screenies. Its free but a whopping 1.5 gigs (including new maps) - but the same reliable sources tells me its worth the wait.

LO-MAC keeps crashing...
GhostDog replied to the_mekon's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
LoMac should run fine without any of the updates as far as i know. But all windows versions tend to go bad or at least slow down over time. A fresh install might be the answer... but then again... -
X-36(USB) joystick/throttle comb.
GhostDog replied to boomer71492's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
sure... Its an A10 config and i'm never satisfied so its a work-in-progress. I'm working on and a2a but i'm far from done as i dont have much time for flying these days. there isn't any layout attached but it seems logical to me and shouldn't be too difficult to fogure out and adapt to taste using the dataview. X-36(USB) joystick/throttle comb.
GhostDog replied to boomer71492's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Hi Boomer. I have the same stick as you and it works every time. You should try going to the options>input in LoMac and clear all keybindings for the stick: Find the tab that says "device" and select your stick. Go through the different modes and clear all bindings except for pitch, roll and rudder in the "axis" mode. Allso make sure that the throttle is correctly bound to both left and right throttle but you probably allready did that - that way nothing should conflict. Let me know if it helps GhostDog -
a European political front? ...i might like to see that one day. Its just a bunch of hugely different coutries currently not at war because they started a casino together and they all think they are winning

The latest official drivers are out. Version 61.77 probably wont make much of a difference unless you got at least a directX 9 compatible card. Click here to go to the DL page for the XP version on the nVidia site. The file is 12 MB The latetst unofficial drivers can as usual be found on Guru3D. The newest version there is 61.76 "Windows XP 64-bit edition"

programs like "enditall" give more info on what the individual proccesses do. There is also a small utility designed fr use with MSFS thats quite impressive. You will only have to tell it what to shut down once and it will do it for you from there on - it even restarts proccesses automatically afterwards if you want it to. If youre interested i can try finding out what the name of it was
