  1. Which file extension are you?

Here's mine, lol. I don't think they liked it when I selected "Morons with too much time on their hands" as my who-created-this-quiz response.
  2. Nic's manual rocks! I'll take a number please... Post #29
  3. New members

You might wanna check IP logs too, just to ensure there isn't someone duping themselves to increase their chances of winning.
  4. As Tuff said, get LOMAN if you plan to do anything outside of what's available on the LockOn CD (ie. use custom skins, community missions & campaigns, create your own mods, etc.) It's invaluable.
  5. Cool!

I like the newly-implemented flash update at the top of the main page.... now I don't feel so guilty about slamming any super-important site updates down the page with my daily barrage of news posts. - NewsMonkey (aka SlickWili)
  6. Website Update in progress

Yes, I second that suggestion. Nav bar for the site just feels better on the left.
  7. DDOS attack in progress on server

Feels a heck of a lot better today. MAN... *sigh*.... posting news yesterday was super-frustrating. The admin page would time out on me every 10 min. or so for about 5-10min. at a time.
  8. I like the new colors

Now that would be cool! :D
  9. MJ, NewsMonkey here...I tried logging into the news posting area this morning to begin my barrage of updates, only to find that I cannot log in! It just keeps spitting me back to the login page. No error message. I've tried several browsers and received the same result.
  10. Works good now. Thanks for fixing it! Sorry it took so long to troubleshoot. My "window" of free time for posting the day's news has come and gone, so I'll try to post some tonight, otherwise it's mega-mondo news page tomorrow morning! :D
  11. Tried logging in again without success. When I enter my user/pass, the link bar refreshes from index.php to index2.php, and then back to index.php where the login prompt shows up again.
  12. Forum Upgrade Scheduled 10/05/2004

Here's a fast reply... to mention that I like the main forum page listing that tags yesterday's posts as "Yesterday" and today's posts as "Today." A slight change, but cool nonetheless. I no longer have to check the date to know which day is today. ;)
  13. Forum Upgrade Scheduled 10/05/2004

Heh. Moving from the main page to the forum is like stepping into a hospital hallway. White everywhere.... oh, and here come the fellas with my custom-tailored straight jacket.... run! LOL.
  14. Ok. I really liked Babelfish before, but this is awesome! :D :D :D
  15. Forum Upgrade Scheduled 10/05/2004

Cool! Are we gaining any new features with the upgrade, or just losing old bugs?
  16. Sumbitting News

Hmm... this IS strange. I remember in the past that everyone should be able to, at the very least, submit news for approval by the administrators of the site. But, I don't know if anything's changed recently that has removed this feature or not. Hopefully, MJ or Fates can investigate further.
  17. In the right hand column of the main page, I'm seeing the following "fatal" error:
  18. Thanks howling1! I've got a news bit up on the main page for this release, and referenced your post for further discussion.
  19. The best just keeps getting better! Thanks zzzspace. :)
  20. Nice find, Tuff! I've posted your thread in our News section so that others can check out the snaps as well. Here's hoping an English version of the forum will be made available soon so that we can get more buzz surrounding this add-on. Babelfish translations, post by post, is starting to get a bit tiresome.
  21. Joint Operations: Escalation

Joint Operations: Escalation (click game title for the official Joint Ops website) is the name of NovaLogic's expansion pack for its large-scale PC FPS, due November 16. This will be the first expansion for the Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising title. The conflict will expand from Indonesia into other parts of Southeast Asia. 25 new maps will include such locales as airports, radar stations, and missile facilities. Attack helicopters, battle tanks, dirt bikes, and SAM launchers join the list of drivable vehicles, with an all-new optional third-person view for select vehicles. Other new features announced include ceramic body armor, strategically located base defenses, and airborne drops. The original Joint Operations recently made headlines when NovaLogic announced that the game broke the world record for simultaneous players in an online FPS with 160 concurrent players. It was quickly challenged by SOE’s Planetside, which claimed 500 simultaneous players.
  22. flight recorder

It makes reference to the onboard memory that you have for your hardware. The Aperture setting in Lock On should match this. Have a look at the v1.02 Read Me to get more details on it. The Graphics Tearing thread in this forum also discusses the original issue and the aperture fix.
  23. Slikwili's been busy!

PG_Raptor, thanks. It's been fun trying to get (and stay) caught up on the various stages of these great games. There's a ton of intel out there... The individual hits on the news pieces show me where the interest is, so I will widdle down eventually and get focused. If there's anything specific you want me to stay on top of that you haven't seen posts for recently, just lemme know. LOL! Sorry about the main page tweak Jeff. :D I noticed I've been knocking my own posts off the list there, and some of them are juicy and shouldn't be missed.
  24. X800 and LOCK ON

Flight sims have been notorious for boasting next-generation graphics. LOMAC included. I believe it will be pushing the envelopes on cards and other hardware that come out over the next year or so easily. It is a weird feeling purchasing a game and knowing full well that it will put your current PC to shame because toggling all graphics settings to high is strictly for "tomorrow's computers." I'm glad you were all able to get the graphics tearing and other issues sorted out. :D It is an awesome game with high replay-ability once you get it to run smoothly on your system.
