Lock on Web site
SlickWili replied to VMF-Blaze_UG's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Just to follow up on this thread with a post from Igor Tishin, Director of Eagle Dynamics, on the UBI Forums (don't have a date stamp on the original post, but the re-post was Sept. 9th) -
:P drool.... That's gonna be a great Folding machine.... cause that's what you're getting it for, right? Right? LOL.

The Bell Canadian Open was going too. It was a great weekend for sports indeed.

Foo, You know the rules here on the forum. No one thread will be locked, or an individual sent into temporary detention for expressing their views in a constructive and non-accusatory manner. Personal attacks are not tolerated. Washington Redskins fans are also not tolerated. As a result, we will have to lock this one down. :o </sarcasm> :P Just kiddin... With Gibbs back in charge, some amazing things should become of the Skins this season. I'm in an elimination pool, where you can only pick 1 team, each week, to win their game. I took Washington for Week 1 and they came through for me. :D

Thanks for the link, Nesher. Those wallpapers are incredible. Already changed mine up too. :D

LMAO... nice one! Thanks.

Skins – problems with overuse

This is good to know, finiteless. I'll keep it in mind when grabbing skins. Thanks. :) -
Here We Go Again

Yes, I read something this morning on the UBI boards about forum members being prepared for "sitting in the corner" and having a "timeout" for squad-based arguments (ie. mine's better than yours, etc.) The BioHaz community has really impressed me since I first typed in the URL... GhostDog, Fates, MadJeff and a number of the more active forum members go to great lengths to filter out the drivel in an effort to bring us the news, udpates and downloads that matter. :D -
This little clip has been through quite the controversy. I remember watching it at work in the morning (the link was posted here on BioHaz a little while back,) then going home and trying to preview it for the wife without success that evening because JibJab was forced to remove it. The next day, there were articles on Slate, CNN, etc. talking about said clip and how there are issues surrounding copyright laws that forced the website hosters to pull it. Now it's on AtomFilms, but I wonder for how long. Regardless of all the underlying arguments and political stabs, it IS a funny clip. Still makes me laugh :D

Awesome. Simply awesome. Thanks for sharing, Fates.

So much for getting a bike to enjoy the outdoors and be more in touch with nature. While reading this, I kept thinking about the killer white rabbit from Monty Python.

I guess you can throw away your old feather-duster... the cat's tail will do just fine. :D

A little too close to home here... and a rare occurrence: CNN article Toronto Star article

Check it out Nesher... it made the news: http://edition.cnn.com/2004/SPORT/08/25/is...f.ap/index.html

I hear what you're all saying about the "experience." I hope to get my hands on the game soon to check it out for myself. Thanks for the pics, Fates.

Gotta stop signing them up for the SUV-drivers class.

I'll take a vid cap then (you just knew that was coming)

I don't know. I just don't know. One of my good friends came over for dinner on the weekend and we got to talking about PC games. He mentioned that he bought Doom III and then immediately proceeded to tell me that he was going to give it to me (!) because it has no story and he's already bored with it. The rush of emotions that went through my body was something to the equivalent of winning the lottery, then learning that so did 3 million other people. :( Now, granted, this guy logs a LOT of game time hours. He really enjoys the MMOs and is currently entranced with Star Wars Galaxies, etc. so I'm sure he ripped through the entire game on the weekend and then said "what's next?" Ah well, that's ok. A free copy of Doom III? I'll take it and look forward to proving or disproving his theory.

...unless the firewall is improperly configured. :D

This is great news! I hope ED's new business model holds true. Distributing through UBI has widened their fan base, so they should not have too much trouble selling their LockOn add-ons packs. :) -
Here's a link to Microsoft's KB article on Windows XP SP2 and why some of your programs may no longer be working. I've always preferred the UNIX way of managing Internet connectivity (ie. turn everything off first, then activate as needed) and I'm glad to see that Windows is leaning in that direction, but IMO they could've thrown a lot more documentation, advance warning, articles, etc. at the user base prior to the release of SP2.
