  1. The official LOMAC website is hosting a new poll regarding the 1.02 patch. Here are some of the choices: * I love it! * It's good but I want more improvements * Average at best * Some slight problems with it * It's awful and it's broken everything * There was a patch released? I guess you can't select the last option now since I mentioned the patch at the beginning of this post. ;) Click here to cast your vote and be heard!
  2. Absolutely. Thanks for the thanks... <_< I haven't been here long, but it has definitely been an informative and enjoyable stay. Hard to find these 2 key features in websites nowadays.
  3. LOL. Yep, months from now when we're all cozy and snug in our LockOn v1.02 enviros, we will look back on this time of crazy postings and waving the time-out sticks around and laugh at the silliness of it all.
  4. LOL. There must've been a *poke MJ* server overload *poke, poke* or something because I'm sure there were *poke* tonnes of posts being submitted all at *poke* once. :D I think we are in a bit of shock and disbelief. The wait is over. The time has come. This is great news.... Let the pre-patch praisers and nay-sayers refocus their energies into a post-patch environment.
  5. It is, simply put, "the squeakiest wheel gets the most oil" syndrome. :D Also, I would hesitate from assuming that the flurry of "whining and moaning" posts represent a majority vote over there. Or anywhere else, for that matter.
  6. Hl2 Source Code Arrests

The arrests were carried out under the supervision of the FBI's Northwest Cyber Crime Task Force. FBI media liasion Ray Lauer confirmed that the arrests did happen by saying that the FBI "... does not contradict anything stated in the press release". Unfortunately, Lauer also said that due to a policy of not commenting on active cases, the FBI had no other statement on the arrests.
  7. Carl started a poll at the UBI forums regarding patch updates: Click here to vote for or against the continued updates on the v1.02 patch and post your thoughts. So far, the results speak for themselves. At the timestamp I viewed them, 5% want the patch updates to stop, and 6% don't care. The rest of us want 'em!
  8. Rainbow Six Movie

The Rainbow Six movie is slated for a 2005 release. I've been waiting a long time to see this book turn into a movie, because I really enjoyed reading this particular Tom Clancy novel (and love the games.)
  9. Exactly... and he's proving it quite well.... likely with a big grin on his face. :D
  10. More Cat Pictures

Hee hee! Sleeping (or appearing to sleep) with one eye open. It's the only way to fly. :)
  11. While waiting for the patch...... you can vote for your feelings on patch updates! Check out the details here.
  12. Beta 22

I agree. I've never called myself a programmer, but I've written enough stuff in C and PERL to know that designing a program is a personal thing. When you sit down to someone else's code, you have to kinda get into their head to figure it all out. If you can't discern why they programmed things the way they did, it makes for a long night/week/month. There are guidelines for coding, but that's all they are; guidelines. How to design the code is up to personal preference as well as interpretation.
  13. Beta 22

Precisely. Don't read every post if all you're interested in is where the patch can be downloaded. When the patch is ready, it'll be hosted directly off the http://www.lo-mac.com website. That's the only page that needs to be refreshed to check for it. :D
  14. 49760 my first time around. What the heck are we drinking that's got us so hydrated?!?!? :D I've got to put a training manual together for this.... Good thing man invented urinals. :P
  15. Thanks, Mr. Mudd, for this. It is appreciated. The more insight we have into a situation, the more equipped we are to understand the why of a situation. You are also correct that the information flows quite freely from your side of the fence to the end user. It is not this way everywhere or all the time, and should not be taken for granted. When I read about the other "dynamic" you referred to in your post (quoted above) my stomach turned over. :( I've seen it happen in my industry... when intel like that is lost, it is hard to regain or regenerate. It forces others to step up to the plate and take a swing. Sometimes the result is suprisingly good and other times, it just takes more work, time and effort to get a similar result. Generalizations, I know, but I'm sure some of it applies.
  16. Beta 22

VSD, It is unfortunate that everyone posting responses to the beta updates cannot agree on the fact that the beta testers have v1.02 in their crosshairs and are doing everything in their power to deliver a fully operational patch to the end users. The frequent updates from them speaks clearly to this. I do as you do, except it's Unreal Tourney I boot up for some quick time-passing gratification. :D
  17. Thanks for the update, Bard. It must pain Carl and the others so to have to type those words and click SUBMIT. *sigh*
  18. *hic* Naw, ishh Luke.... Luke (sky)Wah-kerr....
  19. Hee hee! :D I hear ya. You don't want to be pressing the "Jedi Refresh" button on your browser (you know, the one beside the "Refresh" button) until you are confident it is time for us all to get the patch.
  20. Damn, GD. I've been at the site all afternoon, clicking refresh... but nothing's updating!!! ;) You've got the magic touch. Maybe if you hang out there and keep clicking, the v1.02 final release will show up quicker.
  21. Carl's "warning order" is quite the shot across the bow. But it has got to be an indication that this is the closest we have ever been to the v1.02 release. :) Why do I get the feeling that 90% of his post is directed at 10% of the LOMAC forum users? Attention should go where it is deserved, IMO.
  22. Beta 21 Now ...

Oh, wait a minute, Fates. You meant HL2, as in... the HyperLobby2 project right? ;)
  23. Beta 21 Now ...

Agreed, GD. I think it's common knowledge now that people awaiting the patch are frustrated, and that the beta-testers are also frustrated with the nefarious bugs that have put the beta number well into the double-digits. I feel for both sides. IMO some of the replies to the updates on the UBI forum do not deserve the recognition they're getting.
  24. I can just imagine these guys hurling expletives, empty cigarette packets & coffee cups at their monitors when a beta fails. So close, and yet so far.... :(
  25. Taco, Welcome to BioHaz and thanks for stopping by. :) I second Bard's reference above wholeheartedly. Although I have yet to get my hands on the nice binder edition of Falcon4, I read the full 2.0 Falcon manual when it first came out many, many years ago and was blown away by the detail therein. The authors' determination to educate the game owner is excellent. Although it's main focus is the F-16, I found that I learned a lot about jet flight in general.
