  1. Carl posted the v1.02 Read Me file for LOMAC. You can check it out by clicking here.
  2. Maximum G

Later on in the morning, he confessed to me that he was standing quietly in shock when I told him it was a game. He thought I downloaded some real footage from a military website or something. Have to admit that, over the years, flight simulators have come a looooong way.
  3. Maximum G

This is awesome. Showed it to a guy here at work and now he understands why I had to upgrade the PC. :P
  4. To quote somebody who commented on the Read Me in the UBI forum: Agreed. Nice! :)
  5. Click here to check out some screenshots of Beta 18 in action. Moses_195th had this to say about the FPS improvements, multiplayer testing and ghosting in RWR:
  6. Yeah, lol. Moses did a quick reply and missed some syntax, leaving the comment to be open for criticism. He should've typed: "FPS are better in this beta(.) We have up to 8 (players in multiplayer) with no problems." I'm sure that's what he meant...
  7. Loungin' With The Kittens.

NC, The first thought that rolled through my head after viewing that pic was "for heaven's sake don't move or roll over!" :) I have a 7-year-old "tuxedo" cat named London. She is very near and dear to everyone's heart in my family. Even my Mother and Brother in-law, whom are both allergic to pet hair, enjoy her company and short-lived bursts of friskiness. Naturally, there are stories and history to boot, but I think I'll wait for GD's Official Cat Forum to open up before typing more. :P
  8. 7 hours after Carl's original post (above) he followed-up with: Heh. Are BioHaz members in the know or what? ;)
  9. I'm sure they're just dying to work on some new product/projects as well. There's only so much beta-testing one can do before it becomes a monotonous chore.
  10. Stanley Cup Playoffs....

Go Flames Go! (...just doesn't have the same ring to it...) to 7. 7 games seems to be such a popular and trendy (read: MONEY) number for a series this time around.
  11. Here's the latest update from Carl on the status of LOMAC v1.02. Unfortunately, he had to begin the post by addressing all of the UBI forum members that flame-closed Matt's status update the previous day. It is quite sad that it has come to this. I can just imagine what the beta-testers are all feeling right now; anxious to deliver a top-notch patch to the public, frustrated by the dastardly bugs that continue to crop up with each successive beta, excited because they know they are so close to final release, morbid because it is taking so long..... Anyhoo, here's the post from Carl:
  12. Ch-check It Out!

The new Beastie song is getting quite a bit of radio play here, and I'm enjoying it. The volume knob has a tendency to turn to the right, but then after the song winds down, everything else coming through the speakers seems so FREAKIN' LOUD. :D
  13. Online Gaming Connection Problems

What about a virus-checker or scanner? I've seen them cause intermittent issues with some of the online games I've played in the past. If you do have virus/spyware scanners that auto-load on startup, try disabling them exclusively for the purpose of testing FS2004 connections.
  14. F/a-18 Movie And More...

Now that is a lot of CF-18... Wow. :) Thanks, Nesher.
  15. Is it just me, or are others under the impression that Ramstein is the author of the "copy & pasted post" ;)
  16. Yes, the dangling carrot routine gets a little tiresome after a few... err... months.
  17. Hidden Dangers Of Iraq

Flesh-eating spiders... now I've seen it all. Who needs role-playing games when you can just zip on out to the desert and have yourself a whoppin' good time doing it live? Yikes.
  18. Documantairy My Lai

Hmm. It is difficult to have a rock solid opinion on this without all the facts (unless one is irreversibly biased.) Every article that we read has a different slant. In one, the prisoners were non-combatants, in the next they were informants, in another terrorists. The truth of the matter is that we will never really know the full truth. Having said that, I'll fall back onto generalities.... The Geneva Convention was put in place out of respect for human decency and life. By the looks of things, it appears to be a goal more so than a law because we read and hear about nations skirting it all the time. The premise behind judging and enforcing Geneva does not work and, IMO, needs to be revisited. Stooping to the level of terrorists does not make us better people and is hardly the ideal or model that we want future generations to draw from. :( This should get a few more posts into this thread :D
  19. Snacky, Check my text. I wrote that the latest beta was grounded (not the patch) thus referring to the fact that this latest beta is not the one that will make it to final release.
  20. The latest beta is grounded due to a bad training mission and some other minor issues. Carl, Matt and the others hope to have a new "final review" version soon, but E3 stands in their way. You can read the official post from Stormin' below...
  21. Carl reports some bad news on the Beta 12 release of LOMAC v1.02:
  22. Ch-check It Out!

Heh, nowadays us Beasties have to fight for our right to watch t.v., use the phone or take a nap in the afternoon! :P
  23. Stanley Cup Playoffs....

Ah, yes. Next year will be different. Very different if the players and the owners don't see eye to eye. There could be no hockey next season, which I'm sure would be fine with Fates. ;) That outcome would make for a very, very long winter. Then again, there's lots of time for them to settle their differences and come to terms with one another. If the NHL does strike into the '04-'05, maybe this winter will be a good time for me to take a crack at curling. :D So, thanks to the Leafs, it's a very somber mood around here this morning. There's sweet old ladies cursing and cussing in the office with a fury I've never seen them wield before. People are in line, or idling in the drive-thru Tim Horton's in a trance like state. Others refuse to accept the fact that the Blue Jays have changed their logos and uniforms yet again in an attempt to rediscover themselves as the new and improved official farm team of the MLB, not wanting to let go of the season that could've been for the Leafs. But, alas, it has come to pass. 38 years and counting. The radioheads are full of theories, predictions, and analyses for what has and will become of the team. All I can tell you is this; the Leafs are getting really good at disappointing their fans. Almost stealth like, if you will. The Game 7 with Ottawa that, when it comes down to one game like that, could have easily gone either way. Then there's Philly. Immediately down 2 games and looking like there just is no more gas left in the beat-up, rusted Ford Fairlane, the Leafs spring forth to tie the series with speed and puck-handling that would give anyone in the final 4 a tough time. Then they face elimination in Game 6 and play most of the game down by 2 goals. Somehow, they claw back to tie it and force overtime, only to lose there and end their season. And this method of post-season play has happened, year in and year out, for years. The Leafs make a great playoff team. They're always in there taking a stab at stardom. But until they eliminate their inconsistent gameplay (ie. floating a turd amidst some spectacular efforts) they will only participate in the Stanley Cup Finals by joining their fans.... on the couch.... watching the game on the tube. :D The funniest part of all of this is that people like my Father have been burned so bad by the Leafs over the decades that they are willing to put money on any team playing the Leafs, just to see them lose. Naturally, I take him up on this offer and I've scored myself quite a bit of cash thanks to the Leafs overall winning season. Almost enough to buy a Belfour jersey. Go Leafs Go! (next year, that is)
  24. Stanley Cup Playoffs....

... and the Leafs post-season draws to, yet again, another close. They're a great team, but not a Cup team. That was evident enough in their inconsistent game play. Ah well, makes for great hockey-watching on the tube.
  25. Here is a post from Matt Wagner on the list of changes for LOMAC v1.02: Niiiiiiiiiiice. :D
