Yep. My bad... I'm usually on top of these posts. :( -
More Red Airplane Troubles...
SlickWili replied to PG_Raptor's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
I see it too. The way I've been shootin' down the red planes is by: (1) viewing new posts (2) mark all posts as read -
From the beginning, I have always held the opinion that simulators (whether they be flight, land or water) are the benchmark that propells the PC hardware industry into overtime trying to catch up. Today's sims require tomorrow's computers. They are an interesting mix of mystery and fascination. Even the top-of-the-line systems require tweaking and config revision to run these programs smoothly. It can get frustrating during the initial set up phases, but once you have the sim optimized for your system, the ROI can be incredible, for years to come. Falcon and Jane's can speak to that, time and time again. Based on your most recent post Sambo, the game is functional on your system. I would almost opt to (as others have recommended) dial down all of the in-game configuration settings and start from scratch. Minimize or turn off all the fancy features and play with that. Then, turn up a few things and play some more to see the results. Keep tweaking until you yourself find a comfortable balance between eye candy and playability. Keep us posted on your progress. The community here is more than willing to get another pilot online and :)

You just gotta be-leaf in Toronto... holy smokes. What a game. 4-1 final. Ottawa is going home. Patrick Lalime could not get rid of the Game 7 jitters and let 3 goals slip past him in the 1st period. If anyone watched the replay of third goal seep through the 5-hole, THAT was something else. The door was closed and the pads we're locked, but still, somehow, Newy's slapshot squeaked through the hairline seam and into the net. Horseshoes were with the Leafs last night, that's for sure. Eddie was stellar. The team should sign all their checks over to him. :D Go Leafs Go!

Excellent job on the review, Fates! You definitely go beyond the pretty cover by tearing into the box and showing us what we can really expect inside. :)

It took me a while to recognize him. Outland rocks! I miss that cartoon... :(

Those screenshots are amazing! It's like watching a movie or something. I'd be so busy looking around and soaking up all the details that'd I'd be shot and killed many times over.

Dutchy, Detroit's got a clean shot at going to the finals. Toronto's got a steep, uphill battle to do the same. :)

Finance is right.... holy smokes. Buy 3 cards, or a nice down payment on a new car.... you decide. :D Here is GameSpy's take on the beast: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra

Scream'in Graphics Card
SlickWili replied to sambo's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Here's GameSpy's take on it: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra I have got to admit though, I'm a bit gun-shy about these cards now with all the kafuffle last year regarding tampered benchmark programs favoring NVIDIA exclusively.... -
Yep, it's a sad state of affairs for the Buds at the moment. You almost wanna hope it's some kind of divertive strategy to psyche out the Senators, but alas, it is not. Even in this morning's papers, Newy and Mats are questionable for tonight's game at the ACC. Stajan's been at practice, which is fine by me because I think he's fast and more than willing to step it up. Mo is just not himself after that hip surgery. Damn, I don't even think I'd be myself after something like that. Word is he's retiring after this season, which makes sense because the otheo will be with him for the rest of his life. Sold the North Toronto home and everything.... Maybe, just for the hell of it, they'll throw Mr. Bucket-o-Pucks into a winger position.... he is sooo much better there. We've seen it before, but I can't figure out why Quinn won't do it again. They gotta put their 2002 1st-round-playoff game-faces on and take the Sens to school. Go Leafs Go!

Yes, it's always the animals that suffer from the human-related incidents. Even the gopher that was in the hole CowboyTodd stepped in is one hurtin' unit... ...but the expanded sun roof on the critter's home will come in handy now that spring is here. ;) Don't dislocate your shoulders using the crutches. Those things were invented by some sadistic hospital worker that was just coming off a string of graveyard shifts. Get some rest and heal up quick.

Yep. Ugly. The CBC had set the mood before the game even started by harping on the fact that Joe Newy was a no-show. No explanation, no quotes or comments from anybody, just a no-show. It's almost like they knew it would affect the overall morale of the Leafs gameplay. Unnecessary penalties on both sides of the fence in this one (again.) I haven't sat through an entire non-Leafs playoff game, but I sure as hell hope the referees are a little more forgiving elsewhere. A few of the calls last night were abominations, at best. Just who is playing the game here? Then, with Sundin heading to the dressing room in the 3rd, that took the last bit of wind out of their sails. It is difficult understanding how having 1 or 2 Leafs out of a game can ruin the momentum and drive that they normally have. There is more than enough talent to go around for others to pick up the slack and shine.... so keep playing boys! Don't give up so soon! Back to T.O...... Go Leafs Go!

Your Aircraft Of Choice
SlickWili posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I thought I would start a poll to get some statistics on what aircraft BioHaz members prefer in LockON. I have a hunch I know what the answer is, but I thought it would be interesting to see the results. :) -
Amazingly, a fair amount of dust has settled upon my PS2 since my last post into this forum. Yes, it works just fine. Yes, I do have a memory card to save games. Yes, I have games worthy of playing. I just... I can't... bring myself to power it up. Oh, the shame of it all! :(

GameSpy has posted a 3-page review on Far Cry. The short and sweet version of it is: 4 out of 5 stars It's been stamped with the GameSpy Editors Choice award Multi-player is good The Pros: Fantastic new engine produces lots of breathtaking visuals Impressive AI and combat Lots of replay value The Cons: Many areas require a lot of trial-and-error Huge system requirements Weak plot and story Click here to read the full review if you absolutely must, but I say, just wait for Fates' spin. That's the one that counts. :)

True enough. Many of the games out there can be played on older systems once the settings are dialed down appropriately. There are countless posts on the UBI forums by LockOn users that are playing the game just fine on systems that are 2-3 years off the current high-end gear that's available. It's nice to see that the developers realize we all can't go out and buy a shiny new puter every year. :)

You guys have got me :D all the way to work and home again. Hee hee! I gotta tell ya, those back to back shutouts does something to both teams, momentum wise. Eddie was a brick wall for Games 2 and 3. Leetch, McCabe, Kaberle (I'd still trade that guy for a bucket o pucks...) and the others have GOT to keep the opposition away from Belfour's area of influence. He is the Leafs ticket to the big show. And what a freakin' game last night for Nashville. Wow.

Your Aircraft Of Choice
SlickWili replied to SlickWili's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I just had a glance at the poll results and was not too shocked to notice that the A-10 leads with 50% of the votes. The F-15 and Flanker are tied for 2nd place, taking 20% of the votes respectively. It's great to see by the reply posts here that, bugs aside , you pilots are checking out all the hardware available in the LockOn arsenal and finding that you are favoring a certain type of plane depending on the scenario or campaign at hand. -
Alright. I caved. I clicked the link..... W W That was funny!

Ballcap And Poloshirts

One of a kind items always cost big bucks. Looks pretty sweet though. :) -
I was fortunate enough to read the book before seeing the movie. There are noticeable differences between the two. You get SO much more background info from Mark Bowden's rendition. Wow.... I recommend the book to anyone who is at all interested in this chronicle.
