Whilst playing to say I notice when I press left shift and I think F11 (could have been F10) the screen went ALOT lighter...funny enough it seemed darker after installing creaghorns lighting mod which vastly improved the atmosphere and to me quality of the graphics....pressing the above keys seemed to knock the screen back to how it used to be......can anyone explain what might be happening when I press F11 plus left shift? One thing....the screen is a touch to dark so are there any settings I can lighten just a little bit...shift F11 is way to bright now... Thanks

Just read that shift F12 reverts creaghorns lighting mod...so thats what it was...

Thanks...I was at the time reacquienting myself with the F keys in OFF...thats when the screen went really bright...so I'm fine with how it is after creaghorns mod to be honest and I really don't wan to start changing the monitor settings as then I would be constantly changing them from one setting to another...I thought there may be gamma settings in an init file or something... Thanks for the advice

Not sure why but my pilot dies and I'm using them mod.

A massive immersion killer for me is not being able to see the prop spinning whilst flying (unless you look down a little it suddenly comes back, but you can't fly with that view angle). Has anyone been able to fix this? After playing RoF for awhile it has become really noticable...if it can't be fixed will it be sorted for phase 4?

In RoF the planes seem to feel lighter and buffet around abit more than OFF this lends itself to the feeling that the kites are a little flimsy compared to WW2 and onwards...not sure what others think but is it possible to replicate this in OFF? As for other aircraft if any stand out as being a little strange then concentrate on those...i.e the DVa

It was the brisfit...they used the wrong tactics at first and it got blown out of the sky...they had to stay in formation and use over lapping fields of fire as they though the brisfit wouldn't be good as a one on one fighter...they were wrong...

Yeah would love those animations aswell...take OFF campaign and terrain with RoF planes and you have a beauty beyond all reason.

Is there much difference in graphical quality ticking the hi res box? Also is it the case you see no plane damage when you choose Hi Res? Ive been looking at some screenshots and there are a few with substantial damage to the wings I havent seen much of this myself. Finally I was awarded my first medal today the DFC for eight confirmed kills in my SE5a Viper. Very pleased I was. In one dog fight I even heard the scream of the enemy pilot as I gave him a burst and shot underneath his plane at very close range. Love it.

Well I never knew that. I have an OK system and my graphics card is a ATI4870 1 gig. So it looks like I need to invest in WIn7 for future games. I thought I was already playing some games in DX10 already!!

I thought DX10 and bump mapping depended on the graphics card not the operating system.

I've played OFF phase 3 for awhile now and two days downloaded the demo of RoF. In all honesty I prefer the feel of RoF. A great sense of flying and beautiful planes. Yes the terrian is lacking in life(though I've seen a fair few explosions in no mans land cannon against cannon) but when it comes to the airwar it comes into its own. I found the AI very handy indeed thanks very much. I do agree that when the planes crash into the ground they seem a little light and I have had one bounce of buildings....I'm sure this will be addressed in the future. The developers are right behind the game and as each patch arrives I'm sure it will go from strength to strength. I will be buying the full game and extra planes without a any doubts at all and I can see the day when OFF may leave my hard drive.

At the moment I'm playing FE and having a great time. I'm a amateur historian and my passion is the WW1. I know this game is a liye sim and I was wondering whether CFS3 is worth buying to try out OFF. So how do they compare? Thanks

Seem to have a fair few planes being flow'en by the AI (really noticed it with the SE5) pull to the right and then drop from the sky. It also happens on occasion when Im flying the Se5. When turning to the right sometimes the plane will not pull level and crash's to the ground. Anyone else noticed this?

Its great to see Hornet and Goshawk Sqd. I think the markings came with a third party plane. A great trilogy of books and I recommend the series to anyone. Author: Derek Robinson

Yes I have. All the third party planes so far released. The terrain pack and some sound mods.

Well above the normal. About 12 degrees here in Liverpool UK.

Not sure if this is a good idea or not. I cant see how it will benefit the forums. I visit numerous wargame forums (Wargamer, SZO, TAG, SimHQ, Matrix) and just havent the time to get involved in another. As forums can end up taking to much time from my playing quota (I'm married)
