I was up close behind an RE8 and after several burst the Bus caught fire....the next thing I see is the rear gunner leap right out of the Bus.............and then WHAM he went straight into my top right wing taking the damn thing off and I span to my doom....trying to work out whether that rear gunner never knew what hit him and was leaping from the flames...or was the bravest most stubborn man I've ever seen...who in a fit of rage\determination and revenge stood up and leaped right out of his bus into the path of his killer, which was me.

Hmm...putting it that way it seems the best course of action. I'd do what Mannock(think it was Mannock) did...have a loaded revolver with me every flight somewhere close to hand and make sure it couldn't fall out the Bus.

SC games are to generic for me...what we have here I feel is the WW2 game with a WW1 skin...

At first I thought he hit the prop...as he seemed to come right at me!!

@mattmilne...the score for OFF Phase 3 could have been released as a record no problem..I can hear classic FM playing. If the score is near complete I imagine the game is more complete than I thought...so it does seem more hopeful it will be in my Xmas stocking....

Battlefield Academy has a WW1 mod ready. This game engine is perfect for WW1. A great simple turn based game.

A big juicy bone wouldn't go amiss...

@Hasse Wind I agree...and there is a tactical WW1 game in the making...Squad Battles will be doing a WW1 game...love this series PBEM...I'm damn sure WW1 is highly suited to the system aswell...it doesn't do 21 century warfare well but anything pre Vietnam it does very well indeed. Advance of the Reich and Red Victory being two of my favourites aswell as Korea and Winter War. Turn based aswell. Squad Battles is my all time favourite PBEM game. I will be buying the WW1 game when released but I know it is still at least a year away.

I see the dynamic campaign has been dropped aswell as dynamic weather....apparently so the game can be released sooner...god knows what else has gone by the wayside...the word is all thats been cut will be added at a later date... I was going to buy..not to sure know...shall await reviews and a fair few patches I think.

I bought CMSF once all the problems where ironed out and even though I have no interest whatsoever in modern warfare or the fictional war in the game I loved it. The brit module really turned the game around and evened it up...also as the scenario makers got to know the game engine the new scenarios got better and better...the stock ones are terrible in comparison.. I know CM BN will be my all time favourite game series as tactical scale is really where my hearts at.

Just found out Conflict of heroes is due out this year...it's a conversion of the boardgame...this has now been added to my to buy list....infact I've even gone and applied to Beta test!! Not like me.

Sorry I only play campiagns...not interested in single missions at all when the campaign is so damn good.

No one mislead you at all...for a start your missing the best part of OFF and thats the campaign...I've never bothered with anything else...I'm very surprised you couldn't hit anything in OFF yet find RoF easier...the FM's are alot more forgiving in OFF..I think you will find your probably on your own with that opinion anyways...also it takes practice...flying WW1 isn't like WW2 or later you have to get real close... Not happy at all at being accused of misleading you....you haven't put any time into the SiM and yet right it off instantly...you need to practice and before long you will be fine...I find the Tripe, Camel, Pup most likely the easiest to get kills in..also why couldn't you see them?? Did you have the targeting cone on? With that on in becomes alot easier to track a plane..I honestly believe there is no such thing as a poor flier more like someone who wants instant gratification and you wont get that in any Sim...do what we all had to do and practice...play a campaign and enjoy the RPG elements...it isn't all about killing...with all the aids on you couldn't make the Sim any easier... Think if you want arcade there is a Red baron game around I believe or maybe First Eagles is easier than both OFF and RoF....you really need to stay away from sims if you find OFF hard to be homest..you need an arcade game. Anyway I certainly wont be helping anyone else nor recommending this fine Sim...misled...thats a joke....honest opinions where given...the campaign game oodles atmosphere...what kind of sim have you been flying for the last 20 years???? The more I think about ti the angrier I'm getting so thats it signing off this post...

Totally different to the old WW2 Combat Mission games. The same engine as the CMBN is the modern one Shock Force...had a bad start and I didn't buy it until about a year or so ago...so good I bought the Marines and british module infantry is 1:1 scale...I have no interest in modern warfare nor the fictional setting in CMSF however I love the game. So a WW2 version is like heaven for me. It does infantry combat better than anything else...also a WEGO option and replay which is what I love. RTS drives me mad...way to fast and to many clicks...

Forget CoH and get a real mans tactical wargame when it arrives Combat Mission Beyond Normandy...;) @Hellshade...I agree "no" to forum or sim war....damn silly when we all obviously share the same interest in WW1....though sadly I feel CA as a forum has been unjustly tarnished recently..I enjoy both Sims...one is where you fly a WW1 plane the other is where you fly a plane in WW1....someone said this on a forum once and I couldn't agree more.

Thanks mate...I too boot up the other sim...and enjoy it in short bursts...though for me it doesn't match up to OFF for pure immersive fun...at first it seems wonderful but very soon you realise it's SP is only good in quick flights here and there. What shocked me was the militant views of some and how they will jump from a great height on those who disagree or find fault in said sim. Sadly this then put me on the defensive and has really coloured my opinions of said sim and some of it's community. Militancy can breed militancy. I went from being neutral to getting a feeling of abandonment when Hellshade started posting the Vids of said sim as I could picture these fanatic simmers thinking "Aha we win for Hellshade has turned to ###".. It was especially annoying when your made a critisism about the tripe FM and it was ignored and then when you made a positive comment you where hailed as "Hellshade speaker of the truth" if anyone else had made the FM comment like myself I'm sure it would have been jumped on instantly.....still it's good to know OFF is till in your heart.... So thanks for posting your views to us...

If I was you Pawgy I try flying at realistic first then if needed drop as it is a hell of alot easier than RoF flying these planes. Practice makes perfect aswell...and with such forgiving planes it wont take you long...RoF just requires practice aswell...the Pflaz and Alb's are verye asy to fly in RoF as they can be thrown around and I haven't soubn one yet unlike the camel\pup etc... Also I stay away from the Spad due to the limite viewpoint...not really the best plane to learn in...go for the Pup or an Alb...

I too would like to own a fire arm...a gangster can pick up a gun anywhere and anytime...a law abiding citizen can't so the bad guys have guns and the good ones don't. Anyone who says gun ownership is responsible for the crimes and shootings in the USA only have to look at Canadian which has far more firearms per person than the USA and no real gun crime whatsoever.

I loose many Pilots within the first few flights...that doesn't bother me to much. It's the time invested pilots that really bring the Sim into it's own and the fear of loosing them can be great...especially when your off deep behind enemy lines!!
