USAA used to be awesome. In fact, I was going to switch to them several years ago but they just couldn't match the coverage and rates I was getting from AAA. However, I get spammed like crazy with snail mail from them. I'm due to re-up my home/vehicle insurance and I always shop around. I will not be calling USAA as a protest on your behalf. Hey, it doesn't mean much but at least you can tell them they lost another potential customer.

I still use ICQ, sorta. I have Digsby and have a lot of contacts from gaming via ICQ.

I'm going to call Sprint from my home phone and tell them I want to cancel because of this. Nevermind that I have Verizon service...............

FC 2.0 TrackIR
Ruggbutt replied to jomni's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I'm glad to see you have it sorted. I figured it was software related. -
If you can handle the heat AZ is the place to be. Cost of living is low and you can carry concealed with no permit. You carry open no permit as well. You can also put your pistol/rifle/shotgun under a seat or tarp as long as it's in a case/holster/scabbard.

I've shot several coyotes. We have open season on them from time to time when they've overpopulated. Same with jackrabbits.

Let's also not forget what this woman did for money early on in life. While I personally don't have a problem with that I do know that mindset comes with a whole lot of other baggage. I lived with a stripper for 3 years. I'd never date one again. Same kinds of issues. And twice I had to take one of my guns away from her so I didn't become a statistic. I'm on Tito's side with this one. She's not hurt bad enuf for her story to be believable. Also, has anyone here ever used an ace bandage for anything other than holding a compress or gauze pad on? Cuz I've had broken bones and sprained everything and I'm here to tell you that an ace bandage is about worthless when it comes to real injuries. However, an ace bandage looks awesome on the news when you're trying to show how bad you're "hurt". Jenna is on the dope and prolly injured herself. As for smacking a woman: I had another ex that was a black belt in Karate. She could get her licks in but the only time she ever really hurt me was after coming off of surgery (had two screws put in my left ankle to hold both bones together) she leg swept me in the driveway cuz she was pissed at me. I was wearing a half cast/splint. I was still too swollen to cast my leg. It hurt like hell and I almost cried in front of god and everyone but instead I stood back up. She came at me again and bam, bam she got a left and a right. She looked like a racoon the next day at work. And I have zero remorse for doing it. She stepped into the ring and wanted to fight like a man so I treated her like one. IMHO examples like the above are the only reasons you should smack a chick. Unless they're into it and you're horizontal and that's a whole 'nother thread.

What version of TrackIR do you have? -
I'd love for that "radical" group to pull a stunt in my neighborhood. There'd be lots of gunfire but we know how to hit what we shoot at.

That threw me off a bit, cuz she's a tough lady. Got me a bit teary eyed. But at least he's alive and his prognosis is good.

Just got off the phone with Sheila. Your wife is awesome Dave! Got a sitrep and she's gonna go back Friday as well. I can't tell you how much this means to me, my squadron and all of Striker's friends.

Striker had two rounds of surgery in Germany and now he's been airlifted to Walter Reed. He's had more surgery including some to his arm. He's going to live. One of our squaddies flies Airbuses for Delta and he's working buddy passes. We intend to visit him once rehab starts. We figure our ugly mugs will put a smile on his face when the really hard stuff starts.

I had a 1943 Springfield Armory. Not a reweld and it was bee-yootiful. The operating rod/gas tube housing that had the front sight was a bit loose so I did the old armorers trick using a mallet and drift to spread out the 3 parts that fit into the dovetail on the barrel. Tightened it right up, no wobble and it shot accurately. I also bought one of the "tanker" models and it also shot nice, no jams or misfires. Those babies were fun to shoot.

Royal Marines dissmised for striking a bomber...

If we're not going to prosecute the war like you should then let's just pack up and go home. Seriously. I'm about fed up with political correctness on both sides of the pond. -
3Sqn Dedicated Server running FC2.0
Ruggbutt posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
3Sqn is excited to announce the return of The 3Sqn Dedicated server. The server is running Servman for all those needed admin abilities. We have two missions that will be placed into rotation. "A New Battlefield" The Red side features Russia stationed at Maykop, Mineral, and Nal'Chik against a blue coaltion of USA, Georgia, and Ukraine who are stationed at Guduata, Sukhumi and Tshakaya. AI flight operations are included to bring a little extra spice to the battlefield. The mission is available in a few different flavors that change the season, weather, and mission start time for added flexibility. The mission features random unit placement triggers creating unique locations for medium and short range sam sites. "Capturing Maykop" I started it in Black Shark two weeks before FC2 was released. It has over 400 triggers and will no doubt set a benchmark for what is possible with the mission editor. More details to come as I finalize and ready the mission for online play, but you can bet the mission has something to do with Maykop. __________________ -

What are your system specs? Specifically what kind of video card and memory does the card have? -
Dave, thanks for making the calls to help us out with info. I'd like to know what caused the a/c to go down. If it was shot down that's one thing, but if it's (another) problem with the Osprey then I don't feel so good. Panther hooked us up with Striker's email addy, she's been great with keeping us informed of what's been going on.
-
Someone got the info out. The news story said 3 servicemen and 1 civilian killed. The Osprey was carrying troops and many were injured. Striker (my friend) was injured. He was sent to Germany for surgery and he's survived that. I'll keep everyone posted. For those of you who don't know who Striker is, he was one of the Virtual Thunderbirds. I'm sure you've seen some of the videos. Striker my brother, godspeed. I love you and hope you heal fast.

Is there any way to find out who the victims are? One of ours just deployed to A-Stan in Ospreys.

Every new sim has people complaining about how to mod it, or how to set up their controls. I love how you have to set up each aircraft's profile separately. Granted, a lot of the commands span all the flyable aircraft (F is still flaps, G is gear for every jet). But you can set up different controllers for different jets and different commands. It's not as hard as the complainers are saying. It's actually easier to install 2.0 than it was to install FC1.1. Install LockOn (no need to reboot) and install 2.0. For 1.1 you had to install Lock On, reboot then install 1.1. Then if you were patching you had to reboot before installing the patch. And 2.0 only uses your Lock On installation as a licensing check. Uninstall Lock On after you've installed 2.0. 2.0 is a stand alone product. That clears up several gigs on your hard drive. The community has busted it's behind to make several important 1.1 mods and tools 2.0 compliant. ModMan for example, most people cannot live without it. I prefer not to. Skypat has updated his fantastic free software. The 1.1 3Go Su-27, SIMMOD A-10 and Gys-Valerie F-15 are all 2.0 Modman compliant. The community is compiling a list of converted 1.1 mods that will work in 2.0. It may take a while to figure out which mods won't work, and some are no longer supported by their authors. For me 2.0 runs better than 1.1 ever did. It's also a better looking sim than it ever was. If people would quit jumping to conclusions and ask a question, someone who knows the answer will help them. The LOMAC community has always been that way. I just ignore the whiners. Can't please 'em all. But I can tell you that 99% of 1.1 owners will be much happier with 2.0 than they were with the previous version.
