Most damaged flyable aircraft
Ruggbutt replied to RedBladeHR's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
That picture has to be before the plane spun in. I have huge amounts of hours on the 25T and it won't fly w/one wingtip gone, much less the rest of the damage shown there. -

Shift+Backspace. All the keycommands are in your LockOn/Doc folder.

That's correct, for both. -
Co-op Aircraft Carrier Takeoff
Ruggbutt replied to PAW's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Mission/Campaign Building
It can't be done in 1.02. In FC both planes start on the right front "cat" area. One of us usually pulls off to the side and repositions in the left spot. -

You should be able to get Net 1.1 Framework from the Microsoft site. That's the version you need. Net Framework is like an addon, it doesn't come with Windows. -
Overwriting 'Hot Files' with Modman
Ruggbutt replied to Laer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
What I meant to say was to use Modman 6, it will install the older mods correctly. Most of the mods out there aren't LOMAN or ModMan compatible. -
LMR and other random mission generators

When you make an LMR mission, you have to change the file extension for the generator to recognize it. Read the instructions carefully and you'll get it figured out. ;) -
ZZZ Soundpack's a-10 engine goes silent
Ruggbutt replied to Laer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I ran into it with Flaming Cliffs. I was using one of the ZZZSpace sound packs and it fuxored the A10 sounds. The reason being is there were some sound files renamed for FC and his old sound packs use the old names. There is a ZZZSpace sound pack that is specifically for FC, but you have to be really careful when you install it, as you can corrupt the sound fairly easily. -
Overwriting 'Hot Files' with Modman
Ruggbutt replied to Laer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I made a movie where I used an F16 mod. It screwed up my install completely. It was no big deal cuz FC had just been released so I had to do a clean install anyway. Anytime you mod your game you take a risk of screwing up the installation. I only use mods that are Modman 6 compatible, as Modman makes the essential backups. -
LMR and other random mission generators
Ruggbutt replied to Laer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
LMR has to have missions made for LMR. Missions are randomized either by start time or by time they are created in mission. This delineates whether they spawn in at all or what time frame they randomly spawn into the mission. Below, I've copy and pasted info from other forums that I've posted about LMR and my mission pack. I've also done AAR's (After Action Reports) in this forum of some of the missions, take a look and see what you think. These missions are only for use with LMR (Lock On Mission Randomizer). Each numbered mission contains an Su25T singleplayer mission [ex.(01)POL], A10 singleplayer [ex.(01)POL(A10)] and A10 multiplayer [ex.(01)POL(A10)m/p]. They are identical to each other with the exception of the aircraft you are flying. But this is where it ends because as you randomize the missions, they will play out differently. That pesky Mig29 that snuck thru our air defense last time may not show up next time you fly the mission. These missions were designed for replayability, and I have been playing around with LMR since it was released by TPN Shadow a year and a half ago. I hope you enjoy these missions. I designed them like a real pilot would fly them. There are long, medium and short range SAM sites in all the missions. The short range SAMS (Igla) are by far the most dangerous as you have no launch warning when their IR missiles are fired at you. These missions can be completed if you fly smart. MANPADS (Igla) have an altitude cap, 10,000 feet and above they can't reach you. Real pilots fly above MANPADS altitude for the same reasons that I have oulined above. In our squadron the majority of the times our pilots get shot down by SAMS are when they break Angels 10 and let that Igla get a shot at them. Oftentimes I'll fly at 14,000 feet and drop before I reach 10,000 feet. Fly these missions for yourself and please offer feedback. I would like to know if you enjoy them as much as the -199-VNFS/LAW do. Feel free to stop by our website forums and post in our Lock On section. Last but not least, I recommend you randomize these missions from 40 to 70 minutes. I use 50-55 and have great results. Grab the mission pack here. Grab LMR here. -
A10 Mavericks always miss in quick mission
Ruggbutt replied to Laer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The missile effectiveness slider needs to be set to 50% or 100%, when it's not this happens with the mavericks. -

Dual Install Possible?
Ruggbutt replied to Platinum Rogue's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
You can do it but you'll have to reinstall Flaming Cliffs too. Install LOMAC, patch to 1.02 and copy the folder elsewhere. Then install FC to the original directory and patch it. Rename the 1.02 install to Lock On Old. Use the lockon.bat file to start the game. -

The most important thing is know how to IFF. I went defensive from 5 missiles fired at me last night from a friendly F-15. The 5th one got me. The guy who shot me refused to respond to chat messages. If you screw up and shoot a friendly, apologize right away. Other rules, don't use the taxiway for takeoff. Check that someone isn't in the pattern before you taxi on to the runway, conversely check to see the runway is clear when you're in the pattern. CTRL+M is global chat, don't be afraid to use it. Say hi, ask questions if you don't know something. -
Questions about radar and missile lock
Ruggbutt replied to feldwebel's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
It depends on target aspect and airspeed. In Lock On you don't get a star, your lights on the canopy bow turn orange when you're in range. -
