Too late for edit but follow up,I got one squadron to work correctly but for some reason random squadrons without any connection or possible conflicts that i know of to the new ones still randomly get their airbases swapped around whenever i add them into the campaign. The numbers should be correct at least from what i counted so i'm not all too certain on what might be causing it. The more squadrons i add the buggier it gets for some odd reason
  2. So i just count back from 1 starting from the first red unit? Bit confused since most campaign files i usually edit will have the correct numbers all assigned and i'd just need to set their Unit ID according to whatever number they already have in the data file
  3. Iraq is in there. I didin't add a new country or squadron into the campaign. I just added already existing units into the campaign ini file that contains all the playable squadrons so i could select them in the campaign screen. Usually this really isn't that hard i'd just copy paste all their details from the data ini but like i said for some reason none of the numbers match their unit IDs and i can't seem to get their paint scheme,nationality or home base to match what i actually put in the ini files except for maybe random guessing with the unit IDs until they finally match. The unit ID's in the Israeli version of the campaign all lines up normally. But for some reason in the Arab campaign they're all jumbled up. The Iraqi No.4 Squadron for example,which is the only Iraqi squadron i didn't add in myself,has the Unit ID 49 but is assigned as AirUnit065 in the data file for some reason
  4. I edited the campaign folders to add custom units many times before and they usually work with a problem but i seem to be having an issue with the SF2I Extension mod's campaigns. What i want to do specifically is make a couple more Iraqi squadrons flyable in the Arab version of the 1973 War campaign instead of relegating them to the AI,so i added them into campaign text file under the Iraq Units section and moved their airbase to the H-3 Airbase, But instead it seems to set my home base as some other random airbase in Egypt and doesn't set the correct camo as the game thinks i'm in an Egyptian Squadron even though i'm flying in an Iraqi one. I managed to get the camo to fix itself by assigning random numbers until it thinks i'm in an Iraqi unit but this has the side effect of teleporting other squadrons to other airbases. Upon further observation,i noticed that none of the flyable unit ID's matched their actual Unit ID's in the campaign data text file either. I'm a bit lost on this issue because every other mod i ever added custom squadrons to had the units matching their unit ID's perfectly normally. If anyone has any clues on what might be happening i'd really appreciate it
  5. Has anyone here made an Iceland campaign with 50s ships/planes.etc? I love the North Atlantic Expanded mod but aside from the 1969 camapign,most of it end up feeling samey with the same old planes and enemies over and over. Love how the NATO mod lets you experience the entirety of the Cold War from fighting with turboprops to stealth fighters and was just wondering if there were any mods that did the same thing except with carrier ops. Also side question,is there a good A-3 mod anyone has that i can mod into the campaigns?

Yep yep sorry just went through the files, Apparently the TEXTURESET001 line before the rest of the stuff for the paint scheme was missing and presumably preventing the game from reading the rest of the stuff about it since it now properly works after i manually added it. Thanks for the help regardless lol
  7. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue before but for some unknown reason. The blue/brown paint scheme on the VautourIIA in the Israel Extension mod appearing as completely pitch black to me. I'm pretty sure it worked just fine before and this is the only aircraft and paint scheme that seems to have such an issue. I've done everything short of reinstalling SF2I itself including redownloading the mod files and deleting the mod folder and yet none seem to fix it

Mostly just asking since i know most Cold War based WW3 scenarios mainly try to base their campaign on RSR and the idea of a limited but very quick and intense conflict in Central Germany and maybe elsewhere in the Atlantic and further north but barely any scenarios in popular media try to cover what a hypothetical conflict in the Balkans involving arguably two of the most militarily weakest and most'unreliable'members NATO had during the Cold War against equally undertrained and undersupplied members of the Warsaw Pact(at least compared to the levels of elitism expected by the Soviets from East German or Czech units and the generous donations of equipment the Soviets gave them) Asia is definitely interesting though and i'd love to see how the US would've hypothetically shored up such a massive frontline against East Bloc forces seeing as they no doubt be involved in defending the ROC from the PRC,the ROK from the DPRK and Japan from the Soviets at the bare minimum(assuming if it's a pre 1975 scenario or if the Vietnamese wouldn't try to take a neutral stance or something and decided to join in the fray too by threatening Thailand and the Philippines)

I've been playing a lot of the NATO fighters mod and I really appreciate the variety of not just being able to play as not just the Soviets,but also as the East German,Polish and Czechoslovak air forces respectively. I'm just wondering if there's any mod out there that expands upon the Cold war gone hot scenario and includes a hypothetical total war scenario as to include Greek and Turkish forces and subsequently,less'famous'members of the Warsaw Pact such Hungary,Bulgaria or even Romania and Albania. I know of the Crisis in the Med mod but as far as I know that's a strictly US and Soviets only scenario although i might be mistaken

In case you were still wondering,the correct order to install the files is as follows: 1,.First and foremost,the 4 parts of the main mod 2.The two parts of the September 2014 update(the terrain update is included in the more recent versions of the base mod) 3.The FOTI mod for the A-6 intruder cockpits as placeholders(the install guide for the base mod will list which folders to move these files into) 4.The VPAF add-on 5.And finally the Endgame 74-75 add-on
  12. Very very late update:After redownloading every file over the course of the last week and making sure to meticulately place every file where it's supposed to be. The mod seems to no longer crash(or at least I haven't had a single crash in the 30 or so missile kills I did during my testing)so it in fact may have been a corrupted file after all. Sucks it took so long to fix but it's still fixed regardless so that's good. Finally get to fly some CAP in F-14s kek. Thanks everyone for the help and very sorry for the wasted time lmao
  13. Oh in that case then it's like i said,i only ever install mods to their own folders(the Taiwan mod to StrikeFighters2 Taiwan etc.)and run them through their own exe's. I try to not touch any of the base folders the game generates so as to make it easier to troubleshoot anything and not mix mods that are incompatible with each other

I have all the expansions(Europe,Vietnam,Israel,North Atlantic including expansion 1 and 2)and AI plane packs 1 and 2 but none of the extra DLC planes I'll try to do edit the Enterprise models when I get the mod working and running but I'm satisfied enough for now just using the not exactly accurate replacements included with the base game as long as they work and I can take off and land I'm not too sure what you meant by a clean install sorry,but I do keep each mod in their own separate folders instead of overwriting any base files from either the game or the expansion folders since I saw everyone mention this to be the cleanest and easiest method for installing mods
  15. eburger hasn't been on since 2020 it seems,so it's highly unlikely i'll be able to reach out to him. I was hoping another modder with more experience debugging the game would chime in and share their thoughts and confirm if this is a corrupted LOD or something else but i'll just have to wait and hope someone comes on i suppose. Also no these are the base weapons that either came with the mod itself or the official Vietnam expansion. I saw someone was saying something about crash logs on another forum but i don't know where to find them either

  18. I've tried changing the quality around. Still nothing there. I checked my HDD's quality and HDD Scan said it was good. I guess only option left is to redownload but like i said that'll take maybe 4 days minimum for me to get all the files and expansions redownloaded. 3 days minimum just for the main mod files and updates so i can't report on how well that works yet
  19. It's the latest version,last updated on April 17.2021. Then the September 2014 2.1 update last updated on September 19,2014 and then the VPAF add-on last updated on August 10,2013. And then finally the End Game add-on also last updated on September 19,2014. I assumed from the mod page that the newer versions include the terrain update therefore i do not need to download that file separately so i didn't get that file,all running on the July 2013 patch for SF2. I suppose i could try a complete clean reinstall but that'll take at least a few days before i can do that and confirm if the issue persists or not
  20. The issue seems to happen both on campaign and single missions and only on the AGW expansion as i've used plenty of missiles in the base game and other mods and never had a crash with it. Not quite sure myself on what causes it but i reckon it might have something to do with the files for the missiles or the ensuing explosion and destruction of the aircraft,i can only make guesses sadly

Was just getting worried i was coming off a bit annoying or something as someone who does nothing but requests help and posts bug reports but i really do appreciate the help. Hopefully someone here is a bit more well versed in the game than i am and can help figure out the issue
  22. Sorry if i'm starting to sound a bit like a broken record, I realize my posts have seemingly only been me requesting help for things and i do apologize lol. But i seem to be having a problem with the AGW expansion for SF2V. I keep getting these random sporadic crashes while i play and i haven't been able to precisely pinpoint what causes it. Sometimes i can complete entire missions fine and sometimes it crashes mere minutes after i take off once i get near the target. From what i observed though it often crashes just right as a missile fired either by me or any of the AI hits in a split second before it shows the explosion as if something about the missile hitting a target is causing a crash though i have managed to kill an enemy with a missile and not have it crash multiple times before so i'm not all too sure what causes the crash. I'm not precisely certain but that seems to be a re-occuring trend from the bit of experimentation i did to try and figure out the issue. If anyone else here has had this issue before any help is greatly appreciated once again
  23. I did find a few mods for CVA-41 and CVA(N)-65 but I'm not sure if those were the models they intended to be used in conjunction with the mod though it might be possible. Guess i'll have to download and replace them myself sometime later
  24. That's the weird thing. The readme for the endgame expansion mentioned nothing about carrier models i have to get. I was looking for that since most mods either include everything already or make sure you know there's more things needed but the only things i saw on the readme were for the main files,updates and the VPAF expansion. Maybe it actually is my bad i am a bit of a klutz after all but i swear i didn't see a single mention about carrier models needing to be downloaded. Regardless it's fixed for now and thank you very much for giving me the time of day to help out
  25. i found a bit of a scuffed workaround. i noticed that Midway,Coral Sea and Enterprise had their carrier types set as things that didn't exist in the objects folder hence probably why they didn't spawn. I changed Midway and Coral Sea to be set as CVN-63 and Enterprise as CVN-68. Not necessarily accurate and ik some naval buffs might find this an unsatisfactory compromise but i can live with it for now, They seem to be working and spawning aircraft on the deck just fine now. I guess it was either a missing file after all or one that wasn't included by mistake but i could've sworn i didn't miss anything from all the downloads so i'm not sure how that happened but the campaigns work fine enough to play for now,but thanks for the help regardless lmao
