The T-28s come down from Camarillo? CL -
Raytheon A36 Bonanza
charlielima replied to SUICIDAL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hmm? There was a D33 Debonair ground attack prototype. Wrench, do you go to the Peoples Rebublic of Santa Monica Air Museum much? Give the SPAD a pat for me if you do. CL -
Raytheon A36 Bonanza
charlielima replied to SUICIDAL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yup. If its going to be a Beachcraft use a Beachcraft model. I'm not sure wether the mentor was based on the Bonanza or vice versa. Also check out this link for a V-35: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...&hl=bonanza I have been blessed with some stick time in both the V35 and A36. Both sweet rides. If I was to own or fly the F33 would be my choice. How about some "square" windows? I can't even imagine comparing an O-1 to a straight tail bonanza. Good luck with your project. My all time favorite A36 was tan with 2 tones of blue trim, if you get that far. CL -

I believe the A-1E / AD-5 has room for the beer, groceries, nieghbors, in flight kitchen, and enough ordinance to chase charlie across Southeast Asia repeatly. The A-36 is a Splendid Aircraft. What about the T-34 mentor as a flight model? CL -
Answered threat with 50 cal and various small arms. No survivors. Wreckage sunk. Ration of grog authorized for all hands. A new holiday proclaimed for civilians to BBQ and play in the sun. Chuck, Chuck, Wake up. Don't you have to go to work today? CL

Huh! Ironic or prophetic? Are not our razor blades made from steel salvaged or scrapped from US Navy Ships as old as world war 2 and sold by Bic or Shick who I believe are French. A German quote on the schnellboote sim:" Fortune Favours The Fast" Herman Spedtz. CL

Splendid slide show! I often think of driving a C-130 Herc or C-2 Greyhound and dropping a stick of SEALS or Force Recon and thier boat out the back door. Paras are the original Precision Air Launched Weapon and should be part of this sim. We don't need to make up a reason to drive multi engine props into battle. We have everything from the wee OV-10 to the heavy AC-130. BUFFS too if you need your wings swept and blades inside a nacelle. Driving a C-130 on a LAPES mission would be bitchin'. Elite forces like vehicles too. CL -
Modern IDF pilots?
charlielima replied to ST0RM's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
How about the pilot in the Mirage Factory's IAI Nesher? He's sporting a white bucket, green zoom bag and survival vest. I got mine from column 5. Checksix has Mirage Factory downloads. 2 Screen shots of that pilot. Both Planes by Zur. Upper skin by WhiteKnight. Lower By Wrench. The IDF Sabre Pack does have some good stuff in it. Dhimar denies the use of Modern Isreali equipment or personel but Charlielima confirms the use of pilot ISRAEL1 in downloaded SFP-1 aircraft sporting Dhimari warpaint. In both his personal laptop and desktop computers. CL -
F4D-1
charlielima replied to delta6's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm flying both of Razbams Flying Dump Trucks. Lets go back to square one for some of us stuck in the sixties with the technology of the 21st century. I first save all the files I don't want to lose? Did that. Second, Delete WOV, SF, or WOX and start with a clean unpatched retail off the shelf version. Did that also. Tested it with no add ons. Worked OK OK now do I load a sequence of previous patchs or just the new patch? And of course lastly add favorite files and very fun things to drive that go gloppita gloppita or zoom. I probably do that to well. I'm currently playing with boats so I'm not totally SimLes right now  CL -
F4D-1
charlielima replied to delta6's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm in the same boat as D6. Patched up. Added my favorite rides. Launched the Fords. Cool. No spinout, but no turn. Visually checked flight surface function on the next hop. Checked good but same problem. No way I'm going to give Julhelm or the new patch any gas. Alot of my other favorite stuff doesn't work anymore. I'm going back to patch 2. At least I'll be able to fly my A-1s and have Zunis on my Cruds. If I wasn't such a SPADaholic I'd say the F4D is the most awesome pre SEA conflict add on here. Enjoy your Fords those lucky enough to make them work. I'll catch up eventually. Unfortunatly at a piston engine driven airspeed tho. I'm keeping the dream. CL -

Nope. Desert skin OR SEAC roundels. I always wondered if any equipment painted up for North Africa was sent to Southeast Asia after that campaign was over tho. Bitchin! Gimmee gimmee. CL -
NAS North Island
charlielima posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Has anybody, or can someone make NAS North Island. Our splendid F4Ds by Julhem in VFAW-3 warpaint will need a base to intercept Veltros awesome Bears. Or will we have to fly out of El Toro, Los Alamitos or even Tustin? CL -
NAS North Island
charlielima replied to charlielima's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
If the Hotel Del Coronado is included someone will probably make a mission where one has to drop the cargo door from an H-3 into the pool. No NASNI? Thats as sad as loosing El Toro for real. CL -
Fairchild C-119
charlielima replied to Monty CZ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Bitchin' All we need now is a pallet load of bombs we push out the back door. Hercs, 119s, CODS, could move some mud. The hercs had the daisey cutter. I'd still like to do LAPES or drop a stick of SEALS, Rangers or Force Recon and there zodiac boat out the back. Good ad on Monty. CL -
Sea Monsters? Bah! If there is such a thing we have MK 46 Torps and a court ruling to ping on stuff in the water. CBUs, Zunis and even 20 Mike Mike should do it too. Well Doggies! CL

My favorite Brit bird is the Vampire here and the Hurricane C, 4x 20 mike mike, in PF. A M8 here sniveled for a Hurricane D, 2x 40s, but got no joy. I'd like to see SEAC and desert Brit skins for Razbams SPADS and A1Es. A roundel with a Roo or Kiwi on a SEA or gull grey raider would be handsome too. -
F4-D Skyray
charlielima replied to delta6's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Its my all time favorite aviation photo. Flew with HS-12 at NASNI in the early 80s. 2 more. Hey Delta. Are you flying or wrecking Fords? I'm not trying to hijack your thread but one thing here does lead to another. CL -

TU-95 Bear Update
charlielima replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
What kind of ECM will it have? It's not going to cook the noses off my F-4Ss an F-4Ns is it? Should I bring a gun or 2? I'd like to launch the alert alpha for a Bear Intercept. I'm not quite sure I would want to hug, squeeze, pet and name it and treat as friendly. CL -
Yup! Just as I thot. More Man Stations then Man Caves. Those lucky anough to build thier man cave lose it later in marriage or divorce if your are not brilliant enough to own a boat. I'm thinking about a portable shed or even a trailor for the CharlieLima Tactical Command Center. Man Caves For All! CL

4 major fires going in southern california. All romping thru residential areas. Hundreds of primary residence / homes lost. Very tragic. Secondary tragedy; Arrests made. No looters or hostile arsonists shot. A year or so before the siege in 2003 the FBI alerted us that foreign entities hostile to the US planned to take advantage of santa ana wind conditions and put some flame on the ground up wind of populated areas. CL

Anti-ship in WOV;How to?
charlielima replied to dsawan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
There has to be. There is the Tonkin Gulf Incident mission. CL -
2 areas I've previously worked at. Nice and breezy, no visible smoke here in Antelope valley. The fire by Sylmar is romping. Regular programing on KFI radio ( available on the web ) is sierra canned for coverage of the fire. US Forest Service firefighters ( permenant and temporary employees ) in California North Zone and Nevada have been laid off last October to offset costs to government from this years fire season. Next week another batch gets put on the beech. Yours truly will be unemployed for thanksgiving. Here's a good link for news, updates and sometimes maps: http://www.wildlandfire.com/hotlist/index.php  CL AKA: Captain Chuck. Engine Boss, Crew Boss. Strike Team Leader.
