  1. Off topic. Stary, is the cockpit you have in your signature pic available for SF2? The Mig cockpit without the mirror housing.
  2. Already did, but thanks for the reminder. It amazes me how much I have to back up sometimes.
  3. Moderators, I think sd1ugn is some sort of ad bot.
  4. Roger that. Just tried a little experiment, and saw what Wrench was talking about. Like he already warned us.
  5. In your aircraft data ini, you'd have to set the [Nose] section to ShowFromCockpit=TRUE, but you'll see things in your rear view that you probably shouldn't. It's then a game of finding the components in the aircraft out file that you want to use the Component[xxx]=Hide trick to hide from your view in the cockpit, if you can do it. Sometimes it doesn't work that well. Other times, it works perfectly.
  6. Thanks, FC. I'll give that a try later. Love this community...
  7. Sorry, Erik. By using select color in Gimp 2.82, I can eliminate the blue and have the numbers and letters I need in a handy, cut and paste .tga file. Now, if I can figure out how to create that font in one of the free font creators, I'll be happy Heck, because that will be easier to use in Gimp. If not, it'll just be more tedious to use. But, alas, off to work today...
  8. Thanks, Erik. Blue is an evil color. Gimp must slay blue.
  9. This is a decal sheet photo I swiped from the net. As you can see, the F is very distinctive. The numbers appear closest to RAF Type 1, which I have. You can see them clearly on the Sabre in the second picture.
  10. Gimp works a treat for creating decals. Gimp 2.6 creates them very easily. Just learn layers. If you have any questions, just ask. There's a small learning curve with Gimp, but once you learn how to use it, it becomes second nature, and you can churn out quite a few numbers very quickly. I think once you get started with this, you'll find it becomes quite addictive, and you won't be able to stop. First serial numbers, then personal markings; the possibilities for creative fun in this sim are endless. The only thing you won't be able to find is the font North American used. That, for me, is the Holy Grail. Give yourself some time; have fun.
  11. Gotcha. Thanks, Fubar. I knew they re-winged some E's, but it never occurred they might have done A's as well. I get it.
  12. I know I may be mistaken, Fubar. I thought they had to do some rebuilding of this A, and for some reason they chose not to use the slats, but used a solid leading edge with fences. I'm pretty sure the rebuild team did this, unless that's what you meant. I'm confused, but with somebody as dim as me, it's pretty easy...
  13. What this actually seems to be about, ColStafford, is your ego, and how affronted you were to be bounced off the KAW team. And maybe being bounced from the site twice. Decals are easy to learn how to do. Please don't send me any more private messages. You can learn how to do this in fifteen minutes, or less. If this is really such an issue, learn what you need to, to do it yourself (I DID!), and post your "fix" on the site as your own mod. I'm sure the moderators will not stop you. But please stop asking others to do the work for you, based on what you, the self-proclaimed, "Sabre Expert Of All Time," say. This is wearing thin, if you're not willing to spend the fifteen minutes (or less) yourself.
  14. ... but I've been doing a lot of flying over Wrench's KAW terrain and it is in a class by itself. If mods were given awards here at Combatace, you can call me a fool, or a fanboy, I don't care, I feel that this terrain would be worthy of one. I haven't even scratched the surface of what's there to find. I'm not trying to denigrate anything else released for KAW, I love it all, but I'm giving this terrain my standing ovation. Nuff said.
  15. Oh, Wrench. Give us time. It's gonna be a long war. My pilot record screen song. From a good little site: http://www.authentichistory.com/1946-1960/2-korea/3-music/19500000c_Korea_Here_We_Come-Harry_Choates.html
  16. What a great team. Many thanks to all. Another great addition.
  17. This is an old mod, but it taught me how to add views, especially the look down view mod you'd like. http://combatace.com/files/file/1784-recce-mod-test-pack/ There are also various bomb sight mods in the SF1 downloads, I think, that might work, or give you ideas for SF2. So that's what they mean by bump mapping!
  18. Is this who I think it is? Yeah, it is. If you think this is wrong, "Col.", just do them for yourself. You know how to do decals. Wrench does his homework, and puts in unbelievable time and effort to bring things to this community. Then again, maybe we need an E-6, an E-10, and an E-15. Oh, wait. No we don't. It would just be two folders too many...
  19. Throw a nickle on the grass... Thanks KAW team!
  20. "Hey, boss. Have you seen my coffee?" "Maybe you should lose the shades." "That's not helping." "Neither are you. Set flaps to takeoff."
  21. Great videos, Fubar. Thanks. Had both those on VHS (VH what?) years ago, but lost them. Thanks for posting them. Good to watch them again.
  22. Thanks, SupGen. I already have the Sabres formatted for SF2. This is the site I downloaded the music from: http://beemp3.com/ And this is the site I used to find the top forty music: http://www.top40charts.net/index.php?page=1951-music-charts
  23. I think what Dave is talking about is that he has an actual A model lod from Zur somewhere. If I remember correctly, that pack's A model is an E lod. Also, Fubar's new F-86 flight models are intense, so they'll be well worth the wait. When it comes to the tunes, I don't know if I can, because of copyright issues. I downloaded them for free from a site, and converted them to wavs, but I don't know if CombatAce would be cool with it. Moderators? George? Tom? (The Hunters)
