  1. @yakarov79 thanks for the help man! i guess i just messed up the extraction, now everything works perfectly, gun sound included! as someone posted already the plane is slightly pointing to the left, but except that i love it! so the ARBS can be basically used to identify the mission target and nothing else, right? sounds good to me!
  2. thanks man! but now i have a few more issues.. i downloaded again all the 4 parts and installed it again on a fresh new SF2 install. the cannon is working (despite i can't change the amount of ammo in the loadout screen) but it doesn't make any sound (the 2 sound files has been added soundlist.ini but they're not related to the cannon anyway) i noticed all the 4 parts had mostly the same folders and files inside so i had to do a lot of overwriting, thing that i didn't have to yesterday on my first install, and there were a couple of corrupted jpgs, so i downloaded it again for the 3rd time and.. surprise! now part 1, 2 and 3 just have the Aircraft folder (of different sizes) and only part 4 have all the other folders inside! what kind of wizardry is this? every time i download the files the content is different?
  3. hey guys, i just downloaded yakarov79's AV-8B Harrier II and it looks like its missing the gun.. the loadout screen shows it greyed out saying 'this aircraft is not equipped with an internal gun' but it should have. i downloaded and extracted all 4 parts and put everything where it should. the folder /StrikeFighters2/Objects/Guns/25MM_GAU12AIR is present with both .ini files so i don't know what is missing.. i know i'm too many years too late but i just find out about the game so i have to catch up! also, how am i supposed to use the ARBS? thanks
  4. yeah that makes sense.. but as pointed out already by everyone i don't really need that change since the modded A-10 has 'Warthog' in the selection list's name..
  5. yep, definitely learnt my lesson
  6. this is what i edited: folder A-10A became A-10A_3W A-10A.ini became A-10A_3W.ini AircraftFullName=A-10A Thunderbolt II became AircraftFullName=A-10A Thunderbolt II (3W) same for the A-10A_78 well i was trying to do what the title of your post says, just to recognize vanilla planes at a glance in the selection menu edit: i moved the Aircraft folder on the desktop, restarted the game and in the newly rebuilt folder both vanilla planes are there. weird that the new folders and files are exactly the same as the one that don't work
  7. hello guys, i'm having a problem and it's pretty straightforward. following this thread > Adding a 3rd Party Aircraft, where a Stock One Already Exists i wanted to add the (3W) tag at both vanilla A-10 to separate them from mods. once i edited the files the planes disappeared from the selection menu, so i went back and restored the files as they were. but now both planes are still missing. no problem with the mods before or after this change, only the vanilla planes. it's not game breaking as i'm planning to use modded planes, but i was wondering what went wrong. thanks!
  8. as a fellow modder/modeler i can only thank you for what you're doing!
  9. hey guys, Gio here from Italy! after many many years i'm back with flight sims.. i was looking for something to get along with DCS and IL-2 and found this gem that i wasn't aware of! looking forward to try some mods, crazy such an old game is still kept alive by the community, hats off to you!
