Missile graphical oddities
FastCargo replied to Atreides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well, it could be result of the download, or simply a bug. If you can, find the bitmap and see if it looks wierd at all...most missle mapping is fairly logical. If you want to get truly painful, you can get one of those grid bitmaps and use it to figure out how the thing is mapped. Otherwise, the best bet is to go back to the original...how to get it...aye, there's the rub. FC -
Missile graphical oddities
FastCargo replied to Atreides's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Based on what I'm seeing, I'd say either the mapping or the bitmap skin is messed up. FC -
There have always been teething problems with any cutting edge aircraft. That's the way of things. After a while, things settle down as the bugs are squashed one by one and everyone gets on with it. Trust me, ask any old Bone driver, or a V-22 guy about so called 'news' and accuracy about their weapon system and you're bound to get an earful. FC

I'd agree with Sony...your computer simply isn't strong enough to run the sim. FC -

About 2 years ago, I saw that bad boy over in Memphis...we figured it was bringing in something outsized (we joked it was bringing in stuff for the ANG ramp that was being constructed...can you say irony?). FC PS Hey, I actually found out why it was here...http://www.memphisairport.org/notes/mem_2007_aug_an-225.htm.

Really? Haven't seen that...I wouldn't think it has it's own TGA file. FC -
Jeez, talk about the zombie thread... FC

Now, see that makes more sense. Su-27s have done several visits. In fact, got a bud of mine who flew slick Eagles who actually escorted some of the first visits to the US of the Su-27. Got some real nice photos... FC

Super Hornet Package for SF2 v4.1
FastCargo replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Folks, for those who think this is just a ini tweak...it isn't. There are definite model changes that make this one a much better fit for SF2/V/E/I. I highly recommend getting this one...and I'm not just sayin that... FC -
Airfields and buildings lighting mod for SFP1/SFG revised
FastCargo replied to comrpnt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Sweet! And yes, they are compatible...I've already made 'all-in one' modes for Vietnam and the Desert terrains which included comrpnts lighting stuff...awesome. FC -
I doubt what you saw was Su-33s. Now, please don't try to convince me you did...older and more experienced heads have made similiar mistakes. Now, the Mi-35s were probably Hinds owned by a group in El Paso that does private OPFOR operations. Wouldn't surprise me to see those. FC

One comment, those PRMC training stats in your signature...I'm assuming that's the mimimum needed. Because I can do that now...and I'm 41 years old and definitely NOT at peak shape... FC -

The Official Agostino Q & A Thread
FastCargo replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yep, what he said. There is a way to make smoke be user controlled, but then the AI wouldn't use it or use it at inappropriate times. In the end, I figured the best way was to have it on all the time..otherwise, why fly an airshow bird? FC -

Finally, look at which path allows you to change later...in other words, is it easier to become a pilot and then transfer to be a Marine, or the other way around. I would bet that if you turn down a pilot slot now, that you will not EVER be offered it again, no matter what you do. On the other hand, unless the Marines have very strict age requirements, if you don't make it through flying training or you decide it's not for you, you can flow into the Marines if you can meet the physical requirements. Either way, good luck, man up, and no regrets. Oh, and once you turn 18 (or whatever age it is in your country), it doesn't matter what your parents think. What matters is what you can live with. If you live your life based on other people's wants or expectations, you will NEVER be happy. FC -

Er...have you ever actually seen a AGM-114L and a Brimstone side by side? The airframes are basically identical. I should know...I researched and built both models for the TW series. FC -
Now those are something you don't see everyday! FC

Nope, that's this weekend I think. FC
