  1. KB, don't rest too long, have a couple of more projects for ya... Before you give me the look of dread, they're easy...really! FC
  2. Heh, better than my old version: FC
  3. There she is ... not so wounded as we were led to believe...so much the better... FC
  4. Thirdwire campaigns are dynamic. FC
  5. The F-117 is part of the Desert Storm mod. FC
  6. F-102...

Speaking of which, I forgot to give Ed back his modified MAX file...I'll get it to ya Ed! FC
  7. Cool! Guess I'll have to buy SF2 and SFV to see what all the fuss is about... Just as I got my supa merged Gen 1 install working... FC
  8. I wish I knew. What I've noticed from my various projects is that the mesh won't shadow if the program determines it's more 'concave' then 'convex'. An example would be my F-5Fs wouldn't shadow until I made the intake tunnels and afterburner tunnels separate meshes from the main fuselage. For any 'holes' that are in the mesh, I think the engine 'covers' them (figuratively speaking) then looks at the overall shape to determine if it should be shadowed or not. Yep, shouldn't need more than a millimeter of difference. FC
  9. Only problem with that method is possible shadow issues. With the new shadowing features, some meshes won't shadow if certain parameters aren't met. FC
  10. Well, models with formation lights work just like that. The lights are simply meshes that have been cut out and moved out about .001 meters (no flashing faces) and textured with the proper colored TGA file (also, self illumination was activated). Anyway, if you applied a completely clear TGA to the 'duplicate detached mesh' as a texture (much like I do with my flight control links), it would be completely invisible. Now, I have no idea what will happen when you apply a decal on top of it...however, in theory since decals seem to have properties different from the mesh they are attached to, they should work normally. 11. TK has said as much. The '2nd Generation' of TK sims are the future. FC
  12. Supersonic B-2

The B-2 is NOT breaking the sound barrier. Some of the airflow on the B-2 is near sonic speed, which is causing the effect you see. But the bomber is not supersonic. FC
  13. ...just a break in the virtual action

Not to belittle what your parents did, but in my opinion, that's called being a responsible mother and father...it's part of the job description. My parents sacrificed so much for us while we grew up to make sure we didn't need for anything. And there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my kids, especially considering our current situation. As per the definition: As you can see, the definition of hero can cover a wide span, and is subject to individual interpretation. I personally just think it's used too much anymore. My opinion is that is should be reserved for those who have 'faced the Elephant' and have measured up to the task, doesn't matter if it's combat or not. FC
  14. It's for any of the ThirdWire jet series of sims with the exception of the 2nd generation(SF2, SFV). FC
  15. ...just a break in the virtual action

I've always been uncomfortable with the idea of the word 'hero' being thrown around. I think it's used too often nowadays. To me, the word should be used sparingly, for those who have directly risked life and limb for their fellow man. FC
  16. Until you get black lung from the zeolite... . We used to joke about that in the Bone community because we have MSOGS (same thing)... FC
  17. This thing needs a FM overhaul. Based on the bouncing gear, I'd say the FM is pre-Oct 08 patch. FC
  18. So do you believe in miracles?

Flying fast movers...ya, he's probably done. But I know plenty of guys who have crossed over to heavies because a particular medical problem prevented them from staying in high-G enviroments. Assuming he recovers, wants to fly again, and the USAF has room, he can probably switch over. That's one thing you don't hear about too much. A LOT of guys I know who've flown Vipers for a long time have permenant neck/spine problems. Hell, my neck is tweaked and I usually only do 5-6Gs on a regular basis. Usually it's not the G's in and of themselves...it's the twisting while under G that causes all the strain (incidently, similar problems creep up in spines at 1 G for the same thing...twisting while picking up something heavy like baggage). FC
  19. Sir...........

It's Mega Maid...she's gone from suck to blow!
  20. Terminator Salvation (4 min trailer)

    Actually, you'd be wrong. FC
  21. 747 sucks up container?

Not the first time this sort of thing has happened. There's an old pic of a Delta L-1011 (maybe it was a DC-10) that did the exact same thing. FC
  22. Well, if you want to go the long way around, a US gallon of jet fuel = 6.7 pounds. Then convert pounds to kilos...that's how I do it. FC
  23. Terminator Salvation (4 min trailer)

Not like this makes you unique...it was all over the news about the leak. FC
  24. F-35 Demon Helmet

Whatta think this is, some sort of anime show? Helmets are standardized because they are tested in various situations (including ejection). Any customization would be limited to paint schemes and proper fitting to your head. Otherwise, you're playing with your life. Besides, do you know how EXPENSIVE helmets are? Just the basic helmet (not including things like JMCS, etc) can run into the five figures. That's because they are manufactured at 'medical' quality tolerances, materials, design, etc. FC
