That IS an awesome skin! Okay, now I gotta get off my butt... FC -
For what reason? This isn't an insurgent fight where you need boots on the ground. There isn't an organization behind this, just tribes and miscellanous groups. There is no 'head' to kill or capture. We aren't going out to look for targets. What we are doing is protecting US shipping. My opinion is we should set up a 'sting' where what appears to be an unarmed merchantman is in fact full of spec ops personel and weapons. First time mister pirate decides to try something, he ends up at the bottom. Have that happen a few times and let the word spread. Your fat target may be full of dragon's teeth. FC

F-101D (For Fun)
FastCargo replied to CoopF4's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, the pylons could be built and added via the pilot method without needing to alter the original LOD file. But you'd have to get someone to build the pylons for you. FC -

Converting the F-86D rocket tray to a gun
FastCargo replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, getting the AI to use it isn't a problem with the edits I did for the stock FFAR. The current problem we are dealing with is why the rockets are aiming low. FC -
.dll's difference
FastCargo replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sigh...you don't have to extract ANYTHING. If you use the same callouts, the program goes to the Objectdata.CAT. I used ini edits only to rebuild the older Tornado's to a more modern HUD and avionics package. Yes, it's work, but it was all text only. FC -

.dll's difference
FastCargo replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
"Yes, it only takes INI edits to take advantage of the 70.dll." What part of that contradicts anything you said? If you use the stock TGAs for the radar and HUD, ALL you do is INI work. Yea, it's a LOT of ini work, but that's all it is. FC -

What about Bump Maps?
FastCargo replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Bump mapping refers to a technique to make objects appear to have detailed polygons that don't actually exist. The sim would have to support the function to begin with. I don't know if Adobe supports that or not. FC -
.dll's difference
FastCargo replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes, it only takes INI edits to take advantage of the 70.dll. Biggest improvements are the HUD, support for more advanced radars, laser pod and EO screens, etc. FC -

FastCargo replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Spectre, Thanks for the info...I'm not sure if I'll get it or not since it's NASA (nothing against NASA of course, just more in tune with the USAF T-38s). However, the work ol KillerBee and EricJ and pappychksix have done on the T-38 and F-5F have really gotten them closer to release. FC -

Did I happen to mention that I was a Beale AFB T-38 IP as my last active duty assignment? Let me find my personal tail number... Nice.... FC -

My Projects (EricJ)

Actually JM, that's what I was thinking was the problem...which was why it may have been peculiar to his setup. FC -

FastCargo replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Eric, you're doing nice work there. Please, continue. Also, you may want to talk to KillerBee...he's done a pretty nice job on the ejection seats (he's volunteered for the T-38 for his special project) if you guys want to compare notes. FC -

Anyone working on Weapon Packs for SF2?
FastCargo replied to Nightshift82's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It isn't that hard to convert the weapons from the SFP1/WOx series to SF2. But it's very tedious. If you download the community weapons pack, a lot of the work has already been done... FC
