  2. The KB is a work in progress...but we have lives too ya know. I've already started cleaning up some sections...we're trying to find a balance between too many subforums and not having any. FastCargo
  3. Bitmap

Also, Paint.net seems to be a decent program...has a lot of features that Gimp has... FastCargo
  4. The simplest way is to rename the ModelName= parameter to a AIM-7 model (a .LOD file) that you know you have already. FastCargo
  5. Then you need to look VERY closely at the weapondata.ini entry for the particular sparrow you are trying to load. As an example: Note the entry in bold. You MUST find a cooresponding file in the Objects/Weapons directory...either of these two (for this example): AIM7E.INI or AIM7E.LOD If you find a cooresponding .LOD file but do NOT find a coorsponding .ini file, then there is another problem. On the other hand, if you find a .ini file, then you need to go into that .ini file and read the following (again, for this example): Those LOD files must be in either one of two places...in the Objects/Weapons directory or in the Objectdata.cat file located in the Objects directory. If the LODs named in either the Weapondata.ini or specific weapon .ini file is NOT in the Objects/Weapons directory or in the Objectdata.cat file, that is your problem right there. FastCargo
  6. And, can you fire the weapon and it works...just nothing appears except the contrail? FastCargo
  7. Google Chrome

I've been using Opera myself....I like it. About the only thing is that it has problems with certain sites that are heavy on Javascript. FastCargo
  8. Google Chrome

Checking it out now...didn't hear about it until this post. FastCargo
  9. My Favorite Song....

We might of...I don't remember that much about those days. It just sounds like the lyrics they would sing... FastCargo
  10. My Favorite Song....

Sounds like the Dos Gringos. FastCargo
  11. You got lucky kct! ACTIVE in more appropriate dress. External model needs a few tweaks...in particular, there are 2 small humps on top of the intakes that are not on the standard Eagle. I strongly suspect they are for the canard movement mechanisms. Can anyone note (besides the TVC, canards, and paint) any other changes between this and the standard F-15D? You'd have to be pretty sharp eyed to notice...or fly the Eagle a LOT... Also, FM has been worked on through trial and error...mostly error. Much less twichy at the limit now, no more silly excessive pitch rates...in fact, it's very stable. With TVC and the canards, I can pretty much slow to 60 knots and maintain level flight at about 70 degrees AOA...with the keyboard! I think this one's going to turn out nice... FastCargo

  13. I wish I could take all the credit, but Dave gave me the original MAX file that someone (wpnssgt?) had given him after deciding to not work on it any further. I merely continued to refine the design, add some stuff, animations, and mapping. However, it does fit into my SWOTUSAF plans quite nicely... And SWOTUSAF doesn't have fantasy aircraft per se...each one had to have at least reached 'mockup' stage first... Which means the F-108 and F-109 designations are already taken... FastCargo PS Oh, some fun testing in Vietnam during a random gen single mission. What if the F-107 had been picked to be built instead of the F-105 (they were in fact in competition at the time)? While on a strike... Some blokes from the RN decide to escort us and run up against a bunch of MiG-17PFMs...they score 3 head on kills in 10 seconds! Them some damn good missiles! You can see us way in the background as the RN chews up the MiGs... Now imagine us in SEA colors... FastCargo
  14. Crimson, check your PMs. She's a biggin! FastCargo

  19. I've heard the same thing (about guided missiles)...but I don't believe that's true. I've seen my flight attack targets with Mavericks...and I know I have a screenshot of a SAM site getting destroyed by a Maverick that I sure as hell didn't guide...because I was dead already... Guided bombs on the other hand...I have no clue. FastCargo
  20. Are you talking about the odd flashing facets? FastCargo
  21. First, read the exporter notes (they are located somewhere...I just don't remember where)... Mainly, make sure you have the parts as a heiarchy in links (ie the ailerons are attached to the wings which are attached to the fuselage). For parts that needed to be animated by the game engine (the ailerons, rudders, nosewheel steering, etc) make sure the rotation axis is aligned properly. Oh, and for animations, make sure you are using TCB! Otherwise, they probably won't work... Those tend to be the big issues to get it flying in game. If you want, PM me. I might be able to get it in game for you relatively quickly (enough so you can take over)... FastCargo
  22. Folks, there are 2 ways to deal with a patch in a modded install. Both of them start with a 'clean' install of the program in question. First technique is in the knowledge base...make a clean install, patch it up, and copy your mods over to it. The second technique I use. Again take a clean install and patch it up. Now, take a good look at it inside the directories of the clean install. If you notice, most of the files are 'core' files and can't be altered by ANY legal mods...things like exes, dlls, and cat files. If you note, that's most of the directories except for the Objects, Sounds, Controls, Terrain and parts of the main directory. Copy those unalterable files over from your clean install to your modded install. You can skip the Controls...just go into the WOI menu of your modded install to add your new control options. You can skip Sounds...or copy it over and say "No to all" so you don't overwrite any custom sounds you have but add any new sounds made by the patch. Basically, if you don't copy over any ini files, you shouldn't break your modded install at all. If you want to copy over the specific ini's affected (objects, terrain, campaigns), you can, but may alter those objects and terrains if you modded those specific objects from stock (ie made the MiG-23 flyable, etc). It's easy, just a little tedious...and best of all it works and doesn't break anything that wouldn't be broken no matter how you did it (ie if your model would be unflyable in WOI, it's going to be unflyable no matter how you apply the patch). FastCargo
  23. Updated FM...much more docile handling now. Also, engine data now updated with J75 specs. Has canopy and refueling probe animations. Completely mapped. Will use F-100 cockpit. FastCargo
