Yep, dwcace is correct. Very few large aircraft controls are 'unmirrored'...ie you can use the same hand. The B-1 is an exception...it has dual throttles, so a person can sit in either seat with no additional training. FastCargo

A question about FE/Balloons

Doesn't work properly in any FE version past initial release...FM was porked. Unless someone fixed it... FastCargo -
A question about FE/Balloons
FastCargo replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
They are classified as ground objects. Actually, I wouldn't be TOO sure about not being able to move them...I've been thinking about adding some 'movement' entries into a balloon data ini to see if I can get them to move. Right now, the zepplin addons for FE were porked and are unusable due to the FM changes in the FE patches. Reassigning them as 'balloons' that can move would help bring them back into game. And btw, balloons work just fine in WOI...in fact, they do NOT work in SFP1/WOV/WOE at the moment. Check my 'ASAT' download for details...the 'satellite' is simply a balloon placed REALLY high... Rugg and SayWhat certainly have good points. Maybe a compromise is a 'level of evidence' clause. DNA can be used to exonerate folks...can it be used to confirm old cases as well? FastCargo

This isn't as unclear as people make it out to be. Assuming the fetus is considered alive at conception it's pretty straight forward: Woman chooses no baby = dead fetus Woman chooses baby = live fetus Now, before ANYONE jumps in my chili, I know there are some very valid exceptions (rape, incest, danger to woman, failure of birth control, etc). But assuming it was 2 consentual adults who created the baby, it's now a responsibility that was walked into. You can either kill a fetus so you're not inconvienced or you can bring it to term. After that, you can either take responsibility (both parents), or you can give it up for adoption. Killing a fetus because it'll make you feel better or to make your life easier or to escape consequences of your actions seems very irresponsible. Now, the questions of when a fetus is considered 'alive' and what's the best way to prevent young pregnancies in the first place due to hormone filled teenagers is something I don't have the answer for... You know, this viewpoint makes absolute no sense by any means. Why is it that the people (not all the time) who have no problem with killing a baby because it's 'a bad time' to have one are typically the same people who let scumbags like child rapists who have caused harm to society and others continue to be a burden to society. In other words, why is it okay to kill someone who hasn't started life yet, but it isn't okay to kill someone who has squandered their life with irrepairable harm to others? Personally, if I ever found out someone hurt my kids...there is not enough pain in the world to equal what that person would suffer if I got the chance. As far as that defense attorney/state rep goes...did he think using language like that was going to help his cause? Okay, we get it, he's a defense attorney...he may have to be put in the situation where he does have to cross examine a child. But that speech, he sounded like he would sadistically enjoy the issue. Guess he's not going to be in office much longer... I think part of the problem with the legal system is that it used to be that a courtroom was supposed to be a crucible to find out the truth of what happened and act appropriately. Now it seems, it's morphed into a way to obfuscate the truth instead to one's own advantage. Rant off... FastCargo

Yea, what he said! Let me tell you a story...this happened in 1999. My wife is Canadian, born and raised. At the time we got married, I was living in Del Rio, TX, 3 miles from the US/Mexico border. After all the hoop jumping that we had to do so we could married in Tampa, FL, a last-second snag popped up. Basically, she had gotten this 'checklist' of things to do to make sure her visa was all lined up and got it all done 3 days before she was scheduled to depart to Tampa. However, when she turned in her list, she then was handed ANOTHER checklist, saying 'Oh yeah, you gotta get this done too'. I exploded with a giant 'WTF?' at the State Department...why couldn't they have given us just ONE overall checklist! Well, I called my Congressman in Florida, and had a not so nice conversation... And happened to ask him point blank, exactly why is it that I see illegals easily getting in...but my soon to be wife, who has a masters degree, and whose country we share a border BUT NOT A FENCE with, gets harrassed because you don't have your sierra together enough to make one simple checklist?!?!?! It got fixed. Anyway, back on topic...biases exist everywhere. We are products of many influences growing up. When we're younger, these generalizations make life simpler. But, as we get older and start making our own judgements, and figure out that life isn't quite one or zero, we use our intelligence to overcome those biases by applying logic to varying degrees. Respect has to go both ways. And also, sensitivity is overrated. Either you can't offend anyone, or you have to offend everyone. I'll take offend everyone please... FastCargo

Sparrow not showing on any aircraft!
FastCargo replied to DeatWing's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
DeatWing....listen very carefully. Do NOT install Nato Fighters 1 and/or 2 in your modded WOV/WOE directory...you WILL screw up WOV/WOE. Nato Fighters 1 and 2 is meant to be put in it's own WOE install...make a separate WOE install, then install Nato Fighters into it. FastCargo -
F-14A / B / D
FastCargo replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
This is where you went wrong right here. You need to copy those LOD files into the "Your 3rd Wire directory"/Objects/Aircraft folder where all your pilots are...NOT into the F-14 directory. FastCargo -
Well, I think that's part of it...there's a lot of areas where people grow up, old and die without ever leaving a 50 mile radius. When you have entire communities like that, it can be real hard to shake outdated attitudes. I think that's one of the best things the military does...it forces people from different races to work together. You either get along, or you don't last real long. That being said, racism goes both ways...I've seen attitudes in both directions that concern me. Also, I don't take TOO much stake in this poll...they sampled 1,125 people...which means they drew their conclusions based on 0.0005 percent of the US population. FastCargo

Nope...also, the links have to be in order. 1 overall parent mesh, then submeshes in logical order. FastCargo -

FastCargo replied to JesterV2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
You didn't link the parts of the mesh. And you didn't assign a material to the mesh. You need to read the Thirdwire exporter notes as noted in your 'Learjet' thread. FastCargo -
Military rich list - wonder who spends the most!
FastCargo replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Interesting article...thanks! I was surprised by how much the UK spends...I thought it was significantly less. Also, before anyone makes a big deal about the amount of money spent by the US on defense...spending as a percentage of GDP (gross domestic product) is around 4%...which is roughly 'slightly above average' in terms of world numbers in percentage. And is still lower than at almost anytime in the last century (the exception being the mid to late 1990s). In other words...we spend a lot...but we make a lot... FastCargo -

Depends, how did you do it? If you have them in a 'bombbay', I believe bombbays can only fit 28 weapons at a time. However, you can put in multiple bombbays... FastCargo -
Difference between "explosives=__" and "clusterbomblets=___"
FastCargo replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Explosives is the power of the warhead measured in kilograms of TNT...I think. ClusterBomblets is number of bomblets in a CBU container. Now I'm not sure if Explosives for a CBU equals total explosive power or power per bomblet. FastCargo -
Navy Jets Collide near NAS Fallon
FastCargo replied to kesegy's topic in Military and General Aviation
I think you guys are misunderstanding what Mike is saying. What he's saying is that we try to make the training more difficult than the actual conflict would be. In other worlds either hobble ourselves (not using all the modes available in the F-15s radar for instance) or make the OPFOR more difficult and smarter than they would be in reality. FastCargo
